A man has been charged after he allegedly sexually assaulted an elderly woman at an aged care home in a coastal resort town.
Emergency services rushed to an aged-care home in Coffs Harbour on the NSW north coast following reports a 76-year-old woman had been sexually assaulted in her room during the early hours of January 1.
Police were told a man had allegedly entered the woman’s room, sexually assaulted her and then fled the scene on foot just before 2.30am.

Paramedics treated the elderly resident at the scene before she was taken to hospital for treatment for minor injuries.
A 29-year-old man was arrested in Coffs Harbour at about 2.30pm on Thursday.
He was charged with aggravated sexual assault and break and enter with intent.
The man was refused bail to appear in Port Macquarie Local Court on Friday.
