Dancing until 2am, A-list guests and Neil Young pumped up to full volume, all with a view of the Eiffel Tower – it could only be Kate Moss’s 50th birthday party.
The supermodel celebrated her milestone in the opulent, pastel-coloured environs of the exclusive Laurent Restaurant in the heart of Paris’s Marigny Square district – alongside boyfriend Nikolai Von Bismarck, 37, daughter Lila, 21, and the fashion world’s elite.
Despite her newfound spirituality and alcohol-free lifestyle it was far from a sedate affair. The group took over the entire Michelin-star venue and transformed it into their personal nightclub, complete with a dancefloor and makeshift catwalk.
Stella McCartney, 52, Venus Williams, 43, Edward Enninful, 51, and Charlotte Tilbury, 50, were among the 30-strong group of Ms Moss’s closest friends who were so loud in the restaurant’s smoking area that passers-by stopped dead in their tracks to peer in and see what was going on.
Ms Moss arrived at the venue at 9.10pm with Von Bismarck, as well as Lila and her boyfriend Yoni Helbitz, 23, having travelled from their base at The Ritz.
Kate Moss celebrated her 50th birthday in style as she donned a sheer black lace dress and fur-lined coat for a night at Laurent, an upscale restaurant in Paris
Ms Moss proved that she still had some of her party girl spirit left as she and her nearest and dearest left the venue, located on the French capital’s glitzy Avenue Gabriel, at 2am
The birthday girl wrapped herself up against the Parisian chill on the journey home
The birthday girl was wearing a vintage sheer black lace dress and black satin cape, which she later swapped for Ms Tilbury’s warmer vintage 1984 Bob Mackie coat with fur-trimmed collar.
Ms Moss started her evening catching up with friends and was heard shouting ‘I haven’t seen you in ages’ in the candle-lit smoking area of the venue – where she proceeded to share anecdotes about Mick Jagger.
The group then dined in the lavish restaurant, known for its mousseline brioche with Golden caviar, blue lobster salad and cod confit in sauce vierge, prepared by head chef Mathieu Pacaud, and washed down by beloved house champagne cocktail – the £23 Laurent Spritz.
It was when a Neil Young song started playing that the party really got going, with his 1992 track Harvest Moon cranked up to full volume at 10.30pm.
The speakers weren’t turned down for a full hour, with songs including Baby Love by The Supremes, Sympathy For the Devil by The Rolling Stones and David Bowie’s Rebel Rebel blasting out of the restaurant.
The supermodel was escorted to her celebrations from the group’s base at The Ritz by long-term boyfriend Nikolai von Bismarck, 37
The pair looked all partied out as they slid into their car home from the festivities
Those walking past the restaurant, puzzled by the blaring music and rowdy party on a Tuesday night, paused and attempted to get a look in through the fence.
At one point, the fashion stars turned the smoking area into their own runway and gave their best walks for their friends to critique.
At one point Ms Moss was heard shouting ‘you’re not going to be kicked out just go ask for a lighter,’ to fashion designer Ms McCartney.
The guests flitted in and out of the smoking area and back into the restaurant with Lila and boyfriend Helbitz left alone at one point to dance to Hot Stuff by The Rolling Stones.
Ms Moss danced non-stop from 10.30pm to 2am and Ms McCartney had to be reluctantly dragged away from the dancefloor, protesting ‘but everyone’s in there’.
Former tennis star Ms Williams was the first to leave at 2am as she emerged from the venue and climbed into a taxi alone. She was followed by Ms McCartney.
Ms Tilbury seemed furious that Ms Moss’s ex-boyfriend Dan Macmillan, 49, had driven off in her pre-organised car, leaving her to stand outside the restaurant in the cold.
‘Someone has stolen my car. I’m f****** cold. No, I’m not ok. Give me the driver’s phone number now, it’s not acceptable. I wanted to get home. I’m not happy, he’s driven off in the car that I paid for,’ she was heard shouting.
It seems that Ms Moss’s best friend Sadie Frost, 58, also had a dramatic evening as one guest revealed that she had lost her passport during the trip.

Venus Williams (left) and Stella McCartney were also there until the end as they were spotted leaving the venue alongside the famed supermodel
‘The best part about tonight was I arrived and moany Sadie Frost said she’d lost her passport,’ said one male party-goer.
‘She said “Jess (Morris) fell over and I went to go help her and I went to go pick it up and I think someone stole it.” I don’t f****** care.’
Ms Moss was one of the last to leave the venue after much screeching in the foyer with the last friends standing. She piled into the back of a six-seater taxi with a Lila, Von Bismark, Helbitz and a bodyguard.
When asked if she’d had a fun evening, Ms Moss remained tight-lipped, staying true to her long-time mantra: ‘Never complain, never explain.’
Earlier in the day, Ms Moss had enjoyed a birthday lunch with her boyfriend and daughter at Brasserie Lipp, where they dined on oysters and drank strawberry lemonade.
Ms Moss added to the glamour with a pair of dazzling diamond earrings and a colourful necklace
She perfected her supermodel strut as she sashayed out of the venue with her glamorous pals
She unwrapped presents during the lunch, including a shirt, a necklace and a bracelet, according to onlookers.
The London-born star was dressed all in black, wearing a mini-dress with a large waist-belt, tights, boots and a furry coat.
The supermodel flew to the French capital from Oxford via a private jet which seats up to seven VIP guests on Monday.
She enjoyed a rather less rowdy pre-birthday celebration on the Caribbean island of Mustique with friends Rosemary Ferguson, stylist Katy England, fashion casting director Jess Shallet, florist Flora Starkey and designer Jess Morris.
Ms Frost shared photos from the spiritual and clean-living girls’ trip, which included a beachside celebratory circle.
Ms Moss was seen posing in a bohemian black dress, floral crown and necklace and with no make-up on as she sat crossed-legged on the white sand underneath palm trees.
Ms Moss’s hairdresser James Brown and Tish Weinstock were seen attending the party
Outgoing editor of British Vogue Edward Enniful was also spotted at the party
Von Bismarck was seen following the model out of the party
Dave Gardner was spotted with his model girlfriend Jessica Clarke at the bash
After decades falling out of nightclubs, Ms Moss ditched the booze more than five years ago and even launched her own wellness brand, Cosmoss, which is in keeping with her new lifestyle.
She recently admitted that she now loves transcendental meditations, moonbathing, drinking herbal teas and visiting spas all over the world – a stark departure from her wild child past on the fashion circuit.
Despite her image overhaul, it seems Ms Moss is still partial to a loud, late-night party once in a while, when she’s got her best friends, a great playlist and a upmarket Parisian restaurant at her disposal.
