A surveillance camera has captured the frantic moment residents beat a thief in broad daylight in Colombia.
Two suspects could be seen fleeing on a motorcycle as they rode down the sidewalk – when they suddenly lost control and plowed into the gate of a home in La Magdalena, Bogotá.
The assailants, who had reportedly mugged a pedestrian on July 31, immediately swooped up from the ground to continue their escape when a woman confronted one of the perps and chased after him.
As the suspect, who was riding the motorcycle, was trying to turn it back on, one resident dragged him off the bike and slammed him to the sidewalk.
Once on the ground, the man was repeatedly kicked and hit with objects.
He was dragged by the collar and then tried to run off, but was immediately thrown to the pavement. He surprisingly got up on his feet and tried to run again across traffic before several residents stopped him.
Over on the side, other bystanders were seen grabbing some of the cement blocks that were knocked off the wall and used them to break the motorcycle.
After nearly two and a half minutes, the beating came to a stop as a man stood over the suspect and held him by the shoulder to make sure that he wouldn’t try to run off again.
While two men dragged the motorcycle on the ground, a person riding a motorcycle with a dog sitting on a basket appeared to chastise the group over their actions until the security video recording came to an end.
The incident came just two weeks after residents in the northeast Bogotá neighborhood of La Castellana sprung to action and stopped a thief.
The suspect was attempting to flee on a motorcycle after mugging a person on a street.
The perp was pinned to the ground and had his pants ripped off while multiple bystanders took turns kicking and punching him as others in the background urged him to stop committing crimes and to find a job.
While the residents waited for the police to arrive, others took matters into their own hands and set the suspect’s motorcycle on fire.
