A ‘plastic surgery influencer’ who spent $11,000 on a nose job has revealed how people began treating her differently after she went under the knife.
Devyn Aiken, 30, a paralegal in Philadelphia, took to TikTok to share how her life has changed after getting a rhinoplasty in November 2024.
The influencer said: ‘I thought I was a pretty girl. I didn’t think I was ugly. You could ask anyone. They would think that I am very confident, very secure with who I was. I just thought I had a huge nose that I hated.’
For the majority of her life, Aiken hated her nose – especially when it grew noticeably larger during her tween and early teen years.
‘I was bullied a lot, especially in middle school, and it was just from guys,’ she said. ‘They would call me all type of mean names like bird, Toucan Sam, so much mean stuff. I was like, ‘Oh, my goodness. This is all they talk about — my nose. So if I change that, what can they talk about?”
At the age of 18, Aiken decided to go to her first nose job consultation but discovered that she did not have enough money to pay for her cosmetic surgery.
‘I had a deviated septum, but nothing where I would need to get the surgery. It was purely cosmetic. Insurance didn’t pay. This was straight-up vanity,’ she added.
Over the years, Aiken sought consultations in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
After a number plastic surgeon visits, she decided that she wanted an ENT to perform the procedure to avoid any unfortunate and at times, common side effects that can occur, such as empty nose syndrome, where air is blocked in the nose.

Ultimately, she landed on Dr. Mark Ginsburg, a board-certified plastic surgeon and ENT.

Happy with his proposed design, Aiken booked the procedure and went under the knife in late November.
She told PEOPLE: ‘I was a little nervous putting myself out there because I get nasty comments every day. Every time I log onto my social media, there’s a disgusting comment.
‘People just have a misconception that [with] plastic surgery, you’re like this fake bimbo. You’re making yourself into someone else. That’s not the case. I’m just enhancing and improving myself.’
Though she says it will take a full year for her swelling to fully decrease, Aiken is finally seeing results.

Since sharing her videos of the procedure and its results, Aiken has been flooded with positive comments about her new look- with many people saying they too are interested in having the surgery themselves

‘People will comment on my videos like, “Oh, my God. You’re glowing. We see how happy you are”. That’s my favorite comment, that you can see the confidence change,’ she said.
Two months after the initial surgery, she also asked Dr Ginsburg for two syringes of filler to be injected into her lips and claims her already steady confidence further skyrocketed.
‘I just feel so happy every time I look in the mirror. It’s literally life-changing. Now I can just shop in peace. I can go out in peace and I don’t have to worry if someone’s making a comment. I feel relieved.’
As her confidence continues to soar, Aiken calls her nose job the ‘best decision of her life’ and says she could not be more pleased with the results.
