His life turned upside down after he outsmarted his fellow players and schemed his way to victory on The Traitors back in January.

Yet Harry Clark has confessed he still feels like a ‘normal guy’ despite winning the life-changing £95,000 jackpot.

The former British Army engineer won a nation of fans after he played a blinder on the hit BBC show but Harry has kept his humble roots as he told : ‘I’m just a normal guy who went on a TV show and everyone thinks it’s mad.’

Speaking after the launch of his Secret Like Santa campaign with Deliveroo, Harry revealed he hasn’t used the money to upgrade to a luxury lifestyle.

He confessed: ‘I still live in a council estate in Slough now. I still drive my rundown Corsa that I’ve had for six years.

‘I haven’t upgraded my car or anything like that because I don’t need to. It’s been weird, but it’s also not weird at the same time.’

While the show thrust him into the limelight, Harry admitted he doesn’t feel famous as he explained how after he won both him and his family went back to their normal jobs as he added: ‘Me and my family couldn’t have prepared for what’s happened this year.’

Reflecting on his victory the star said: ‘As soon as I won, I got on the phone and I told my parents. Look, I was 22 years old, I wanted to run down the street screaming it around, you know?

‘So I told my mum and dad, and then my siblings knew and then obviously my girlfriend and that was it, no one else knew, and then they had to keep it a secret.

‘But it was weird because we all went back to work. Life didn’t change because I went back to the army, that was in August, September time and I was in the army until January when it came out on the screen.’

Harry was due to leave the Army regardless of the show’s outcome but had set himself up with a job to work in London on the trains.

However after winning the show his life went in a completely direction as he added: ‘I wasn’t expecting any of it.’

Always happy to engage with his fans Harry added: ‘The best response I’ve had is that people can resonate with me on TV cos I was just a normal guy. I still am.’

Gushing over the opportunities he’s had since winning the show, Harry said: ‘It’s like a dream come true that you could never have dreamt.’

‘I’ve met legends. I’ve met celebrities that I would just I think are so cool. I’ve been in situations like the NTA s which just doesn’t make sense.

‘And now my job is to team up with people like Deliveroo and run campaigns. It’s like the best job in the world.

‘I always say it’s like a lottery ticket that I’ve won in a lottery I never knew I was playing, so it’s absolutely crazy.’

Harry has currently joined forces with Deliveroo this festive period to launch ‘Secret Like Santa’, a first-of-its-kind stealthy delivery service solving Brits forgotten present woes.

According to Deliveroo’s research over half of Brits admit they’ve turned up to an event red-faced, having forgotten that all-important gift and their latest campaign aims to save the last minute present dash.

Talking about why he wanted to be involved in the campaign Harry said he saw it as an opportunity to help people.

‘All I’ve ever said is I wanted to help people and this year Deliveroo came up with the idea of Secret Santa, where they help people who have forgotten their last minute Christmas gifts.

‘They’re then able to order them on a Deliveroo app and then they get delivered by a team of specialist secret riders that I’ve trained myself to deliver the gifts stealthily.’

He joked: ‘I’d be lying funny enough if I said I haven’t forgot a gift, but research has found out that Gen Z, my generation especially, is a last minute generation, which makes total sense because we always are too busy and we never prepare.

‘I haven’t even got my gifts yet like now, so I’m probably going to use the service myself.’

The service is free with every gift purchased from the in-app store, search ‘Secret Like Santa’ on Deliveroo in London, Manchester and Birmingham from December 11-13.
