A manhunt has been launched for a man captured on CCTV dancing down a suburban street after a teenage runner was sexually assaulted in broad daylight.
The young woman was jogging along Whitehorse Road, Blackburn in Melbourne’s east at about 11.10am on August 26 when she was approached by an unknown man.
Police believe he sexually assaulted her as she made an attempt to pass him and ran from the scene on foot.
Detectives have released CCTV of a man dressed in tradie hi-vis gear that they would like to talk to with relation to their inquiries.
The CCTV showed the man walking down a Melbourne street shortly after the woman was sexually assaulted.
He then broke into skittish dance moves on the footpath and procures a basketball from behind a building.
The man is described as having a slim build, brown eyes and dark curly hair.
He was carrying a red basketball.
The woman wasn’t injured during the assault.
Investigations continue.
Police have urged anyone who witnessed the incident, has footage, or information to contact Crime Stoppers.
