Hulk Hogan’s devastated widow is considering a medical malpractice lawsuit following the wrestling legend’s death, Daily Mail can reveal.

Sky Daily disclosed in an exclusive interview that the main focus of any possible legal action is Hulk’s neck surgery months before he died, which she believes could have contributed to the tragedy.

She said Hogan’s phrenic nerve was ‘compromised’ during the operation in May, leaving him short of breath in the months up to his heart stopping at his $8million waterfront home in Clearwater Beach, Florida.

The nerve controls the ability to breathe, and Sky, 46, told Daily Mail: ‘We are investigating for possible malpractice. If you have shortness of breath for a long time, that makes you very sick.

‘It’s not something that’s an alarming (sudden) cause of death. It’s something that wears on you, makes you weak.’

Asked if that could have contributed to his July 24 death, she replied: ‘Definitely.’

Hogan’s embalmed body has been at a Clearwater funeral home for nearly five weeks. But Sky revealed: ‘We will be cremating him shortly as we are wrapping up this medical investigation.’

Of her probe so far, she said: ‘It’s not like in the movies where you snap your fingertips.

‘It’s very time-consuming to call, sending in records requests, get approvals, send in the death certificate to get information. We’re currently in the investigatory process for possible malpractice.’

The sensational surgery allegation first surfaced when an unnamed occupational therapist at the mansion, when Hulk stopped breathing reportedly told cops the nerve had been ‘severed’ during the operation. Sky says it wasn’t sliced through, but it was left damaged.

Daily Mail can exclusively reveal the therapist is 54-year-old Justin McCamey, who has a three-bedroom home in Land O’Lakes, Florida, about 45 minutes from Hulk’s imposing pile.

Since his reported comments, he has taken steps to stay under the radar. When we arrived at his house to speak with him, he answered the door but denied he was McCamey. Asked directly, he replied: ‘No, no, no’ before shutting the door.

On a different occasion, his wife Tara, 50, told us: ‘Justin has gone away. Things aren’t good right now.’

Sky, who became Hogan’s third wife in 2023, said McCamey has spoken with police and that he’d obtained information from medical records. ‘It’s nothing he saw with his own eyes,’ she added.

Of the ‘compromised’ nerve, she continued: ‘We’ve all known about it for a while. It’s not brand new information… everything about his neck surgery has been documented from when he was alive. So there’s nothing that happened right before he passed.’

Sky put the record straight amid explosive claims over the death of Hogan – real name Terry Bollea – which was officially put down to a heart attack.

She also slammed conspiracy theorists who have spotlighted Hulk’s personal physician, Dr. Gerald Fitzgerald, and claimed he may have over-prescribed or drugged the star.

While she and the Hulk were together, she said Fitzgerald never prescribed him any medicine: ‘To me it’s irresponsible to go out and slander doctors,’ Sky added.

She said in recent months, Hogan had been under the care of nearby Tampa General Hospital. ‘He was under a general hospital’s care, monitored daily. And then he (Fitzgerald) is being portrayed as some pill popper who drugged Terry, and he died. That poor man never even gave him a scrip.’

However, she said the actual operation happened at a different medical facility. She refused to name any doctors involved.

Of claims Clearwater Police has bungled any investigation, she revealed: ‘I know the truth will come out, so I’m sitting back here politely being, like, everything’s being well documented. I know it’s fine.

‘But I’m trying to be respectful of the police department because the police department has been very respectful and very thorough.

‘I have cameras in the house. They’ve looked at all the cameras. They’ve counted all the medicines. They’ve done everything that they would normally do.

‘They’ve seen very clear medical records, where it’s just completely obvious how things go. They’ve been very thorough.’

One of those fueling various theories has been Hulk’s estranged daughter, Brooke, 37, and radio personality and podcaster Bubba the Love Sponge, real name Todd Clem.

Brooke was exclusively photographed by Daily Mail on Tuesday, paying her respects to her father at the Clearwater funeral home, where his body is still being held.

Sources told us that she insisted on making the visit, not only to pay her respects and say goodbye to her father, but to see with her own eyes that no cremation had taken place and he had undergone an autopsy.

Sky had already told us she had asked permission for the viewing. She added in our full interview: ‘She sent me a really nice text message that was like, Sky I’ve never had a problem with you and your children are so wonderful and great,’ said the widow.

When asked if Brooke had been given earlier opportunities to view the body or speak with police, Sky replied: ‘Of course.’

After the funeral parlor trip, Brooke and her former NHL star husband Steve Oleksy visited an attorney’s office. She later had a two-hour meeting with detectives.

‘I’m so grateful she met with police. I’m also grateful Brooke was able to finally see her dad and get the closure that a daughter needs.,’ she said.

According to the medical examiner’s certificate obtained by Daily Mail, Hogan’s death was ‘natural’. The cause was given as ‘acute myocardial infarction’. It added he had a history of ‘atrial fibrillation and leukemia’.

However just days ago Brooke blasted on social media: ‘FACT: I’ve 100% gotten legit calls from professionals- from police officials to nurses that were supposedly with my dad on the day of his death telling ME I need to see body cam footage and I need to get a hold of the 911 tapes because they supposedly contain information that could potentially shed enough light to change the narrative we/I/everyone’s been hearing.

‘Those same professionals feel so passionately about what they witnessed, they have continued to contact me and push me to find specific answers to this very day.

‘They are quite literally putting their careers at risk because they feel so compelled to do the right thing.’

And in a telling sentence about her relationship with Sky, she said: ‘The short of it is – it’s all up to my dad’s wife and I have zero control.

‘I cannot do anything, my hands are tied, and I have no say in anything regarding my dad – even as his daughter. Those are the rules as I’ve been told.’

However, on the day of her funeral home visit, her mood appeared radically less strident.

Speaking just hours later on Bubba the Love Sponge’s radio show, she confirmed she had finally been able to see her father, pray over him, and say goodbye.

‘He looked like he was ready to go on TV,’ Brooke said. ‘He was big, strong, hair looking good, bandana, Fu Manchu going on – he looked great.

‘I said a prayer over him and got to say my final goodbyes. It was super nice.’

She said her initial harsh reaction came when she heard her father’s body would be cremated without an autopsy.

She added that the visit was ‘very helpful’ for her, confirming: ‘Everybody appears to be acting in good faith and doing the right thing.’

‘I feel good going home, that I got to see my dad. I got to see the autopsy done.

‘I know there’s still more investigating to do. From what my heart is telling me, everybody’s on the up and up and trying to do their jobs.’
