Hugh Jackman has shown off his massive biceps as he shared a video of himself getting back into shape to become iconic superhero Wolverine once more.
The n actor, 55, took to Instagram on Friday to share throwback footage of himself working out in the gym while preparing to reprising his iconic role in the new Deadpool film.
The video was taken last summer, when he was in the midst of an intense exercise regime to build up his muscles in a bid to portray the ripped X-Men character.
In the clip, filmed by his trainer, Hugh performed bicep curls and struggled to complete the set in the very grueling workout as he got superhero ready.
His trainer Beth Lewis panned the camera over to her trusty canine assistant Andy, who barked as Hugh struggled to lift the weight.

Beth joked: ‘Andy tell him! Tell him, one more [rep],’ spurring Hugh on to keep pushing through the workout.
In an accompanying caption, Hugh wrote: ‘When I was #becomingwolverineagain my friend and trainer Beth Lewis was always by my side. And so too was her trusted assistant Andy! #july26th #throwbackthursday.’
Filming for Deadpool 3, starring Hugh and Ryan Reynolds, wrapped in January and fans were treated to the first trailer for the epic movie last month, ahead of its July 25 release date.
In the clip, Ryan was seen in character as Wade Wilson as he suited up to take on the Time Variance Authority and decide the fate of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The trailer began with Deadpool celebrating his birthday in the company of several of his friends, and he gives a short speech where he graciously declares himself to be the ‘luckiest man alive’.
But the superhero is then visited by TVA agents and is pulled through a portal, where he wakes up in the company of Paradox, portrayed by Matthew Macfadyen.

Paradox informs the superhero that he has a ‘chance to be a hero among heroes’ and leads him to a control room featuring footage taken across the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Confident in his abilities, Wade tells Paradox: ‘Your little cinematic universe is about to change forever. I’m the messiah. I am… Marvel Jesus.’
The superhero then takes on several TVA agents in a variety of locations, and after one is spirited away by an unseen force, he exclaims: ‘Oh my f***!’
The mercenary goes on to violently dispatch various assailants with both guns and his signature katanas.
Deadpool is later blasted through a cement slab, and is approached by Wolverine, who remains off-screen as the former quips: ‘Don’t just stand there, you ape, give me a hand up.’
Wolverine then displays his claws, and the trailer ends after Wilson remarks: ‘Nope, I’m actually okay, thank you very much!’

Hugh had been rumoured to be returning to his longtime role, and in September 2022, his close friend Ryan then confirmed that he would portray Wolverine again.
Hugh previously said he was done with playing James ‘Logan’ Howlett after 2017’s Logan, even after multiple pleas from Ryan, but eventually decided to return for Deadpool 3 because it felt right in his gut.
Also set to appear in the feature are Emma Corrin, Morena Baccarin and Jennifer Garner, and the latter two will reprise their roles as Vanessa and Elektra, respectively.
Production on the movie kicked off in May 2023, and after filming was put on hold due to the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike, shooting eventually concluded in January 2024.
