A Kyle and Jackie O star has tied their knot with their partner of five years and announced plans to air their Vegas wedding on live radio.
Newsreader Brooklyn Ross, who has worked at KIIS FM for 10 years, revealed on Friday he popped the question to boyfriend Damien Dirienzo.
Speaking to hosts Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson, the radio star said he got down on one knee during a romantic homemade dinner at their house.
‘I just want to tell you that after five years together with my boyfriend Damien… I popped the question to him and he said yes,’ Brooklyn told his radio colleagues.
As the crew screamed with excitement, Kyle, 53, cheered: ‘It’s a big gay wedding. Oh wonderful.’
The shock jock then went on to credit his own brother Chris’ recent wedding for inspiring Brooklyn to get engaged.
‘I know what’s happened, because you and Damien came to my brother Chris and Nat’s wedding, you got swept up in the emotion of it all,’ Kyle said.
Brooklyn agreed, saying: ‘They’d actually been together less time than me and Damien. That was actually the thing and I thought, “We’ve got to do it now.”‘

The newsreader went on to reveal the details of how he decided to propose to Damien, saying he originally wanted to do it on the radio.
‘At first I was going to bring him in here and do it on air. But then Jackie was like, “Are you sure you want to do it in here? Is that really romantic?”‘ he said.
‘I ended up just making dinner at home. I made him the dinner that I first cooked him when he first came over to my house. A salmon fennel creation.
‘I had a little spread and red roses and candles and it was just such a perfect night.
‘Then I took him out onto our balcony. I was going in my head, “What do I say?” but when it happened I just said, “Will you marry me?”‘
Kyle and Jackie, 49, said the proposal was very ‘cute’ before they pulled up video footage of the happy moment in question.

Listeners could hear the moment Damien entered his shared home with Brooklyn and saw the very romantic dinner he had set up.
‘I am shocked. What is this?’ he said, to which Brooklyn responded: ‘Just a little surprise dinner.’
‘Oh my god I feel almost so bad. Why have you done this?’ Damien said, stunned by the gesture and still unaware of the proposal about to happen.
‘Because I have a question to ask you,’ Brooklyn confessed.
Damien began to catch on, saying: ‘Wait a minute. Oh my god look at all the cameras. This is like so random.’
‘I love you very much and I wanted to ask you before we go away… will you marry me?’ Brooklyn said sweetly as he got down on one knee.
‘Yes. Oh my god. Yes!’ Damien responded.

When Kyle and Jackie pressed Brooklyn for details on what his and Damien’s wedding ceremony will be like, he admitted he wants a Las Vegas wedding.
‘Damien and I both didn’t really want some huge church wedding. That’s not what we wanted to do,’ he said.
‘We’re all going to be in Vegas in a week’s time, so I thought, let’s do a Vegas wedding.’
Kyle became audibly excited over the thought of a Vegas wedding for his co-worker and long-time friend.
He said: ‘Not only are we going to the iHeart Music Festival. You and Jackie and your new husband are going to be going to New York.
‘Then we’re all going to be in Los Angeles. This is going to be the greatest trip ever.’

‘The wedding and honeymoon all rolled into one,’ Brooklyn agreed, revealing that he was considering having an Elvis impersonator at the ceremony.
He also agreed to tie the knot in A Little White Wedding Chapel where Britney Spears famously eloped with Jason Alexander in 2004 before divorcing 55 hours later.
Brooklyn announced his engagement to Instagram just moments after sharing the news on live radio.
He uploaded images of the magical night which saw him down on one knee proposing with a Tiffany ring on their balcony.
With the Sydney city skyline in the background, Brooklyn had lit candles and set up an alfresco dining area so they could share a romantic meal together in celebration.
‘He said yes!’ Brooklyn captioned the reel of photos which also saw him pose with Damien and their Pomeranian dog Edamame.

On the table in front of them sat the beautiful diamond encrusted ring that Brooklyn proposed with from Tiffany, though he revealed the couple took the ring back.
‘I did love the ring,’ Damien confessed on the Kyle and Jackie O show, revealing he had Brooklyn return the engagement ring in exchange for two wedding bands.
‘The ring was so pretty but it’s not something you want to wear every day. It’s something you put on for a nice thing here and there.’
