A major manhunt is underway after a young man was stabbed to death in a walkway.
The man was attacked on Shellharbour Road in Dunmore, near Shellharbour Junction train station, on the NSW south coast shortly before 3pm on Tuesday.
The man died at the scene, despite paramedics’ best efforts to revive him.
He is yet to be formally identified.
‘A crime scene has been established and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the man’s death has commenced, with the assistance of the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad,’ a police statement read.
About 10 police cars as well as several ambulances attended the scene, just metres from homes.
Officers were seen canvassing nearby scrub and forensic specialists collected evidence from the scene.
