An investigation is underway after the death of a young girl in Far North Queensland.
Emergency services were called to a home in Rankin Street, Innisfail shortly before 1pm on Monday following reports a toddler had been found unresponsive in a car.
Paramedics treated the girl before she was rushed to Innisfail Hospital in a critical condition, where she died a short time later.
Temperatures in Innisfail reached a top of 30C on Monday, according to the Bureau of Meteorology.
Queensland Police have launched an investigation into the girl’s death.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
