A young British tourist has been killed after trying to cross a busy motorway in Tenerife, officials have confirmed.
The 23-year-old man tragically died in the early hours of Saturday morning, having attempted to cross the TF-1 motorway at PK80 in the municipality of Adeje, on the southern coast of Tenerife.
Emergency services, including police, two ambulances and a fire brigade, rushed to the scene at around 4.03am, The Sun reported.

The young man was sadly pronounced dead shortly after.
An official statement from 112 emergency services, which was posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, said: ‘The Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (CECOES) 1 1 2 of the Government of the Canary Islands received [at 4.03am] an alert reporting the accident of a young man when he was trying to cross the TF-1 highway, as it passed through the aforementioned municipality.
‘The 1 1 2 immediately activated emergency resources.
‘The SUC personnel confirmed that the victim had injuries incompatible with life and confirmed his death.
‘The Civil Guard was in charge of instructing the proceedings.
‘Firefighters and Road Maintenance Service personnel collaborated with the responders.’
The TF-1 motorway encircles the eastern and southern parts of the island of Tenerife, running from Santa Cruz in the north to Adeje, and continues to Santiago del Teide in the west.
At 64-miles long, the busy motorway is the longest serving the archipelago.
