A very unexpected guest hilariously interrupted a segment on The Today Show on Wednesday morning’s show.
Hosts Karl Stefanovic, 49, and Sarah Abo, 37, were interviewing Dr Kim Hansen and Dr Maureen Williams when a rogue magpie made its way into the back of the guests’ shot.
The bizarre interruption came as the two guests discussed why health patients are facing excessive wait times and expensive GP appointments with the show’s hosts.
Stefanovic was forced to briefly pause the interview to point out that a huge magpie had suddenly appeared in the live footage on screen behind the guests.
‘Sorry, there’s something very big behind you,’ he informed the pair, prompting an eruption of laughter from the guests.

Stefanovic then joked: ‘Has anyone got a big gun?’ as they tried to move on from the unusual interruption.
He added: ‘I’m just riveted by this – thank you for bearing with all sorts of problems this morning, especially a giant-sized magpie in the background.’
The latest gaffe comes after Stefanovic made an awkward error on the Today show on Tuesday morning when he mispronounced NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal’s name.
The blunder earned a priceless reaction from his co-host Sarah and guest, six-time NBA championship winner, Scottie Pippen.

Going heavy on his Aussie accent, the TV host pronounced Shaquille’s name ‘Shark’ instead of ‘Shaq’ before adding an extra ‘o’ at the end.
‘We’ve had [Shark-quille O’Neal-oh] out here as well,’ Karl said, as Sarah chuckled and gave him a confused side-eye.
The camera then cut to Scottie, 58, who appeared unimpressed with the wild mispronunciation.
