An actress who starred in a popular HBO series has gone missing, leading to a desperate search for the TV star.
Maidé Mahl was last seen in the upscale neighborhood of Moema in the southern Brazilian city of São Paulo on Monday before vanishing, according to the São Paulo Civil Police.
Since then, friends and fellow actors have launched an online campaign to help locate the 31-year-old, sharing a ‘Missing’ poster with a description of the actress at the time of her disappearance.
Mahl was spotted around 3:30 pm in Moema wearing plaid pants, a scarf, a beige overcoat, a brown beret and a backpack.
The actress has had roles in the HBO Max series ‘Vale dos Esquidos’ (The Forgotten Valley) and the Star+ series ‘O Rei da TV’ (The King of TV), which both premiered in 2022.
Adilon Harley, a psychiatrist and friend of the actress, revealed in an Instagram Story that Mahl was dealing with mental-health issues.
‘One of the loves of our lives is in danger. Maidê is loved by everyone who has the privilege of being by her side,’ Harley wrote in a different Instagram post.
‘She has been experiencing serious health problems for some time now, and is receiving state-of-the-art care and treatment at the Paulista School of Medicine, to whom we are very grateful.’
Actress Giselle Itiê also took to Instagram to plead for the public’s help in finding Mahl.
‘If you have any information, please contact one of us!!,’ she wrote. ‘We are all searching. Please share as much as you can, even if you are from another state!’
