A child has been injured following a hit-and-run crash after two cars collided that led to one of the vehicle’s being flipped over on it’s side.
The crash happened on Auburn Road in Hawthorn, around 10 kilometres east of Melbourne around 7am on Wednesday.
The child believed to a nine-year-old was travelling in a BMW X5 SUV along with the driver of the vehicle when another motorist allegedly collided their Volkswagen sedan into the car.
The crash forced the BMW to flip over onto it’s side as a result of the impact.
Following the crash, the driver of the Volkwagen is alleged to fled the crash scene on foot.
