A man has been shot dead after a Halloween rave erupted into a violent brawl.
The unidentified man was found by members of the public at Langford Street in North Melbourne at about 3.15am on Saturday. He died at the scene.
It’s understood a massive fight broke out among party-goers before the man was shot with a 7News camera operator allegedly assaulted.
Investigators have set up a crime scene around the industrial area, which is close to a train line, a major road and a creek.
The man’s body was covered by a large tarp on Saturday morning as forensic officers scoured the area for evidence.
Devastated loved ones were seen hugging and making phone calls at the scene.
Victoria Police said investigators are still working to establish the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.
No arrests have been made at this stage.
Anyone with relevant footage has been urged to come forward.
At 8am on Saturday, Macaulay Road was closed between Boundary Road in North Melbourne and Stubbs Street in Kensington in both directions.
