Guy Sebastian has revealed what happened on the set of n Idol after Marcia Hines collapsed in her dressing room on Sunday night.
The 42-year-old singer was set to perform his new song Antidote with Sam Fischer on the show, when he was asked to fill in as a judge after Hines was rushed to hospital.
Sebastian revealed on Channel Seven’s Sunrise on Monday, he had arrived on set to rehearse when he was asked to join the judging panel.
‘We were just sound checking and when we got there, it was quite a sombre mood,’ he began.
‘Marcia had to leave but from what I know she was ok. And then Kyle [Sandilands] made a joke about them getting me to fill in and I laughed.’

‘And literally at the same time, my manager [walked over] and said “Guy we need to speak”.’
Hines, 70, was rushed to hospital after she collapsed on the set of the reality series and injured her head in the fall.
A source told Daily Mail , Hines stayed in hospital overnight for observation but is expected to be released this morning.
Her collapse was due to her diabetes.
Following the incident, Hines shared a post to her Instagram page and confirmed she is planning to return to Monday night’s final show.
‘I’m very sorry that I’m not there with you all tonight. It’s been a big few days of work and I was feeling a little unwell,’ she wrote.
‘I’m resting up now so I can be back with you all tomorrow night.’

Hines is a judge on the singing show alongside Amy Shark and Kyle Sandilands.
Host Ricki-Lee Coulter told viewers that Hines would be absent at the start of Sunday’s episode.
‘You will have spotted that we are missing someone very important and very special to the Idol family. Unfortunately Marcia is unwell and unable to join us tonight,’ she said.
Sandilands then chimed in: ‘Sorry, sorry. That’s a real downplay. She was taken out of here in an ambulance.
‘Just so that everyone knows. She’s fine. She’s well. But she didn’t just ring up with a headache. She went down.’
Hines has been a Type-1 diabetic for almost 40 years.
