Disturbing footage has emerged of the moment a mom was arrested with blood still on her hands after allegedly stabbing her 11-year-old son to death following a trip to Disneyland.
Saritha Ramaraju, 48, called authorities and reported that she’d killed her son Yatin during a custody visit – on the same day she was due to return him to his father.
Harrowing bodycam footage shows Ramaraju in a zombie-like state as she steps out of her motel room and sees police with their guns drawn, waiting for her.
With her phone pressed against her ear and wearing a polka dot sweater, she takes several steps slowly toward them, and puts up no fight as they ultimately arrest her.
‘She has blood on her hands,’ one of the officers tells her colleagues as she places the unresponsive woman in handcuffs.
Ramaraju was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure after telling authorities she had ingested an unnamed substance.
The youngster was found with his throat slashed and several stab wounds to his body inside a room at La Quinta Inn & Suites in Santa Ana on March 19.
Kimberly Edds, public information officer with the Orange County District Attorney’s Office told Law&Crime that the little boy was with his mum because it was a ‘court ordered visit.’

Saritha Ramaraju, 48, is charged with murder over the death of Yatin Ramaraju at La Quinta Inn & Suites in Santa Ana

Investigators said his mutilated body was discovered surrounded by souvenirs from his trip
‘He was living his best life, every child’s dream of being at Disneyland, spending time with his mom.
‘The day he was going to be returned to his father, instead she slit his throat and then hours later called 911 to report that she had killed her son and taken pills to kill herself.
‘When law enforcement arrived they found an horrific scene of this poor little boy with his throat cut on the bed, and there were souvenirs from Disneyland in the room.’
Ramaraju had purchased the knife believed to have been used in the incident the day before the murder occurred.
She is being held on no bond, charged with murder and one felony enhancement of personal use of a weapon for the knife.

She was still on the phone to law enforcement at the time of her arrest
According to Edds, authorities investigating the death may still upgrade the charges and ‘make it death penalty eligible.’
The charges currently are not eligible for the death penalty, but if convicted she could spend life behind bars.
Ramaraju had bought three-day passes for Disneyland for herself and her son as part of a custody visit, according to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.
It appeared her son had been dead for several hours before first responders arrived, prosecutors said.
She and her husband went through a ‘contentious’ divorce in 2018 and she moved out of state. Little Yatin lived in Orange County with his father.
