The Grenfell Tower fire which left 72 people dead when a high-rise fire ripped through a London tower block marked the culmination of ‘decades of failure’ by the government and construction industry, the final report into the 2017 disaster has concluded.
Grenfell Tower Inquiry chairman Sir Martin Moore-Bick said the deaths were ‘all avoidable’ with residents ‘badly failed’ by authorities and building firms through incompetence, dishonesty and greed.
