alert-–-gregg-berhalter’s-fate-‘to-be-decided-next-week’-as-us-soccer-faces-increasing-pressure-to-fire-head-coach-after-usmnt’s-copa-america-disasterAlert – Gregg Berhalter’s fate ‘to be decided NEXT WEEK’ as US Soccer faces increasing pressure to fire head coach after USMNT’s Copa America disaster

A decision on the future of US men’s national team manager Gregg Berhalter is expected to be made in the middle of next week.

That information was exclusively revealed by Fox Sports at halftime of their coverage of Portugal-France in the Euros.

Calls for Berhalter to be fired have grown in recent days ever since the USMNT was eliminated in the Copa America following losses to Panama and Uruguay. The US made history by becoming the first Copa America hosts to not advance to the knockout stage.

As pointed out by Fox Sports, the timetable for a decision on Berhalter’s future was around the same length of time that it took for US Soccer to decide the fate of women’s national team coach Vlatko Andonovski.

Andonovski was fired about ten days after the USWNT were eliminated in the Round of 16 at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in and New Zealand.

No indications have been made and no serious rumors have suggested a decision one way or another when it comes to if Berhalter is staying or going.

But calls have come from across the sphere of US Soccer for Berhalter to leave or be removed from the job after the embarrassing display at the Copa America.

That includes from US Soccer legends Clint Dempsey, Alexi Lalas, and Carli Lloyd on the FOX Sports panel in the immediate aftermath of the game.

Supporters groups like the American Outlaws have also called for Berhalter to move on.

Even Berhalter’s CONCACAF rivals have chimed in – with Canada manager Jesse Marsch admitting that he was ‘disappointed’ by the USMNT’s exit and citing their ‘lack of discipline’.

There has already been speculation over who might take over from Berhalter – with some suggesting that US Soccer should go after Jurgen Klopp.

That includes DailyMail.com’s Tim Howard, who said he would fly out to Spain himself to try and convince Klopp to join the USMNT.
