Richard Madeley suffered an awkward blunder while interviewing Jennie McAlpine as he accidentally aged her by four years and Kate Garraway was forced to step in.
During Monday’s instalment of Good Morning Britain, Jennie, 40, appeared as a guest on the show to discuss her role as Fizz Dobbs on the cobbles for the past 23 years.
However, Richard awkwardly aged the actress by four years as he discussed how long she has been a part of the show.
During the interview, Richard said: ‘You’ve been in Corrie now longer than Hilda Ogden, Elsie Tanner, does it feel 27 years?’
The actress then proceeded to roll her eyes and appeared irritated as she stayed silent before Kate stepped in correcting Richard by saying: ’23 years’.

Corrie's Jennie McAlpine says she hasn't ruled out having a fourth child 16 months after welcoming daughter Doris: 'Some people love diamonds, I love babies!'
It comes after Jennie admitted she hasn’t ruled out having another child as she ‘loves babies’.
The actress welcomed a baby girl, Doris, in April last year with husband Chris Farr, and held off from publicly announcing her birth to enjoy the newborn bubble for five months.
Jennie, who has played Fiz Dobbs on the show since 2002, is also proud mum to Albert, nine, and five-year-old Hilda.
‘Some people love diamonds, I love babies. It’s chaos at home and my dressing room mirror at work is literally covered with Post-It notes of things I need to do, but even so, I can’t promise we will pause now,’ she told The Mirror.
‘I love that TV programme 22 Kids & Counting. I can’t be like that, but there’s a long way between three and 22, so I can’t definitely say: “No more.”‘
‘I love work and I love being a mum too. If you ask me when I’m 80, I still wouldn’t be able to say no [to more]. I can’t do it, [the word] just won’t roll off my tongue.’

Jennie added if she hadn’t been an actress she would have loved to be a midwife – and even has her eyes on doing a show like Emma Willis’: Delivering Babies.
Previously on Coronation Street Tyrone’s cheating ex Alina Pop (played by Ruxandra Porojnicu) bumped into Fiz at the supermarket Freshco’s car park.
And Tyrone’s discovery he has a son with Alina ‘puts a spanner in the works’ with his relationship with Fiz.
During her initial stint on the cobbles, Alina was at the centre of a storyline about modern slavery that had seen her move to the UK through a human trafficking ring.
When she fell pregnant, Tyrone told her he was staying by Fiz.
A devastated Alina then told the mechanic she was returning to Romania to raise their child alone.
She’s now back in Weatherfield because she’s a witness in a trial against traffickers.

Speaking about how her character feels, she said in a recent interview: ‘It’s too much. She needed time away to heal and she did some healing for sure in those two years, but she needs more time to be away from the Street.’
‘But we’ll see where this takes her.’
Tyrone and Fiz had their first onscreen kiss back in 2001 and they had a relationship twenty years later.
However, they split up after he had an affair with Alina.
After the two characters kissed, Tyrone dumped Fiz and declared his love for Alina.
He finally married Fiz on Christmas Day in 2022.
