Two people have been rushed to hospital after a horrific single-vehicle crash on the Gold Coast.

A 25-year-old male driver crashed into a power pole at the intersection of Guanaba Creek Rd and Stewart Rd in Guanaba, just before 8.25pm. 

He was with a 19-year-old female passenger. 

The passenger side appeared to have been hit with the most impact in the crash but it was the driver who suffered the worst injuries.

The 25-year-old man sustained serious injuries to his lower limbs was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital while his 19-year-old passenger sustained fractures (pictured, officers at the scene of the crash)

The 25-year-old man sustained serious injuries to his lower limbs was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital with the 19-year-old woman, who suffered minor fractures, Queensland Ambulance said.

The vehicle was removed from intersection and the scene was cleared before midnight. 

Investigations with the Forensic Crash Unit are ongoing, Queensland Police said.
