Glastonbury Festival has been thrown into chaos as hundreds of people snuck in for just £50 – causing stages to be shut down from overcrowding and people to panic from the crush.
An exclusive video obtained by shows people in the early hours of the morning jumping over the high walls and running into the festival which already hosts more than 200,000 ticket holders.
Pictures also reveal a queue of those who didn’t get a ticket forming outside the festival walls and people climbing up a ladder to get in to jump down.
One successful infiltrator told : ‘It was ridiculously easy to get in. I joined a Reddit group chat of about 300 people and everyone was sharing tips and contact details of people who could break you in.’
Official tickets are £350 but hundreds joined forums on social media sites and for just £50 they are snuck in by seasoned pros.
They are met at the Castle Cary train station and given all the legitimate wristbands slipped off the hands of people already in the festival and taken back out by organisers.
The large number of people sneaking in has caused chaos in Glastonbury this year with severe overcrowding at smaller stages and areas being closed off to prevent crowd crushes.
Fans were left infuriated after they were unable to see the Sugababes on Friday afternoon because organisers had to close the stage off due to overcrowding.
At least half an hour before the girlband was due to start the large crowds were impenetrable with people at the front fainting and panicking.
It was reported that the queue for the Levels stage, which has a 3,000 person capacity, was longer than the one to get into the site on Wednesday.
Saturday’s surprise act, Kasabian, gathered such a crowd at the festival’s Woodies stage that organisers had to stop people coming in.
At the smaller Park stage, popular DJ Barry Can’t Swim drew in a crowd large enough for the festival’s main Pyramid stage.
Bicep were forced to stop their set at 2am at the dance stage and tell the vast crowd to take ‘three steps back’ because people at the front were getting crushed.
One festival-goer said: ‘It’s too hectic at this festival, they need to sort it out. You can’t go anywhere because people are just everywhere. We were gridlocked on the main walkway for an hour last night.’
