A young Mexican women has learned the hard way that not all love stories enjoy a happy ending.
Kary Santana had spent the last two years chatting online and by phone with an Ohio man, who sold her on the dream of spending their lives together.
But the 30-year-old revealed in viral TikTok video – viewed more than two million times – that after flying to Indianapolis last month to spend two weeks with him, it emerged he had a girlfriend all along.
The lovebirds visited a bar and nightclub, but Santana noticed that he was acting strangely and disappearing for long stretches. Upon going back to their hotel room, his cell rang non-stop while he was sleeping after a night of heavy drinking.
‘I have been here one week and he already drunkenly told me that he does not want me here, that he misses his ex-girlfriend,’ the Mexico City resident said.
‘Now I am in Indianapolis but he lives in Ohio and he has another girlfriend in Ohio and he is blatantly lying to her and he is telling her that he is with his friend when he is with me.’

The Mexican entrepreneur was also dealing with the dilemma that she had nowhere to stay because her return flight was scheduled for November 19.
Santana joked that she had no other options but to take a page out of Tom Hanks’s character in The Terminal until she could fly back home.
‘Like literally I’m adrift and the guy is super asleep, super drunk, but I’m just waiting for dawn to go to the airport and live like Tom Hanks or I don’t know dude,’ she said while panning the camera around the room.
Santana was also accepting invitations from her TikTok followers as long as they lived in Indiana and would allow her to crash in their sofas for the time being.
‘I would really appreciate it because I don’t know what to do. Like I could I buy another return flight but I don’t know. I don’t know if there are flights. I don’t know what’s up,’ she said.
‘He literally just told me like, ‘You need to get the f*** out of here because I miss my ex-girlfriend’ and he’s lying to another girl.’

At one point, Santana admitted feeling like if the man had made a mockery of out her.
‘I feel like I was clowned. I feel like I was clowned,’ she said. ‘I was internationally humiliated, wow, that’s the last thing I was missing.’
Followers on Santana’s TikTok poured in with support with one person offering to help.
‘My wife is in Indianapolis, write back,’ one user wrote.
Another TikToker felt empathy for Santana, telling her: ‘I’m so sorry this happened to you. It’s so hard to trust people these days.’
One follower thought the letdown was part of the process.
‘Take care of yourself baby! It was worth the trip to really get to know him otherwise you wouldn’t know,’ a woman told her. ‘You are worth gold, leave or say goodbye, it is not worth it.’
Another suggested she leave the hotel immediately and head to the airport and change her flight.
‘Girl just go change your flight and bye bye Indiana,’ one woman wrote.
