Gina Rinehart has said will take its cues from the United States following Donald Trump’s crushing victory against Kamala Harris.

The billionaire spoke for the first time after being pictured with the Republican elite at Trump’s election party held at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida this week.

‘s richest person said she hoped her own country would ‘watch and learn’ from the soon-to-be 47th president after his crushing victory on Wednesday.

In particular, the mining magnate hopes will follow the US’ lead on taxes, reducing government regulation and improving living standards.

‘Even after a billion-dollar spend by the Democrats, the USA has chosen, with full throttle, repudiation of all things left. Socialism always hurts those less well off the most,’ she told the Sydney Morning Herald.

‘[Mr Trump] stood armed with conviction, huge courage, incredible untiring effort, and a real love of the USA and the American people.

‘I do hope watches and learns as they see that cutting government tape, cutting taxes, and cutting government wastage lifts people up, and lifts living standards.’

Her glowing praise of the president comes days after she was pictured with his daughter Tiffany Trump at a purple-lit election party at Mar-a-Lago.

Mrs Rinehart wore a wide-brimmed stockman’s hat and proudly held a sign hanging from her shoulders quoting Mr Trump’s pro-mining mantra ‘drill, baby drill’.

She was pictured sitting at a table with former Liberal Party vice president Teena McQueen and leader of the conservative Reform UK party Nigel Farage.

Mrs Rinehart previously said she hoped Trump would win at the polls.

‘I’m still nervous, but very much I am hoping for a Trump victory,’ she told The n last week.

She warned that if Kamala Harris won the election, she would ‘be more socialist, and worse than (Joe) Biden’.

Mr Trump has voiced plans to cut US reliance on income taxes – and make up the shortfall from increasing import tariffs.

He is proposing a 60 per cent tariff on all Chinese goods, and a 10 per cent ‘across-the-board’ tariff on all $3trillion worth of US imports.
