Those hoping to nab tickets for Glastonbury Festival 2024 have been left furious after the organisers delayed the ticket sale just four hours after it was due to start.
The highly-anticipated sale has been postponed after some customers did not realise their registration had expired or deleted earlier this month.
Organisers have now said that some people were not aware of this and ‘out of fairness’ to those who missed Monday’s deadline to re-register the ticket sale will be pushed back by two weeks.
Writing on Twitter a statement read: ‘This year’s Glastonbury ticket sale has been moved back by two weeks. This is to ensure that everyone who would like to buy a ticket is registered and therefore eligible to purchase one.’
Tickets for coach travel will now go on sale on Thursday November 16 at 6pm while general admission will go on sale 9am Sunday November 19.
Eager festivalgoers, hoping to bag the coach tickets at at 6pm tonight, are infuriated by the last minute change, with many complaining that they had booked a day off work to try and get their hands on a ticket.
One fumed on social media: ‘Absolute joke. There was more than enough time to sort this out. Why delay it? you’re just making it harder for the people who are organised. How is that fair?’

Another added: ‘This is an absolute joke! People have taken time off work for these dates and you’ve decided to do this last minute because some random people didn’t follow simple instructions – what about the rest of us?!
A third said: ‘And for those individuals who planned ahead, checked their registrations but now won’t be able to try because they’re on a plane during the new sale?’
‘Shocking decision. So many people will have made arrangements to make sure they’re available and ready for these sales. If other people aren’t organised (can’t read) that’s on them. Four hours notice is very poor form,’ another added.
A fourth said: ‘Dreadful decision folks doing this with four hours notice. Bad form.’
The statement continued: ‘Following this year’s Festival, we alerted everyone with a registration which pre-dated 2020 of a scheduled review of the details held by See Tickets in the Glastonbury Festival registration database.
‘This was in order to ensure that the details we hold are current and that we do not store individuals’ information for any longer than is necessary. These registrants were asked to take action to confirm their registration if they wished to keep it.
‘As always, registration was then closed on Monday (30th October) ahead of the ticket sale. Unfortunately, it has come to light that some individuals hoping to buy tickets for 2024 have discovered after Monday’s registration deadline that they are no longer registered, despite believing they were.

‘Out of fairness to those individuals, we will be re-opening the window for registration at 12 noon on Monday, 6th November. It will remain open until 5pm on Monday, 13th November.
‘We urge everyone hoping to buy a ticket to Glastonbury 2024 to either check their existing registration now or submit new registration, which remains free of charge (link in bio) from 12 noon on Monday.
‘We apologise for the late change to the ticket sale dates, but we want to ensure that everyone who would like to buy a ticket for next year’s Festival is able to confirm their registration ahead of the sale.’
