Bill Burr has slammed Howie Mandel for pulling a ‘careless’ stunt during the comedian’s recent appearance on the Howie Mandel Does Stuff podcast.

During Burr’s chat with Mandel on his January 21 episode, the American’s Got Talent judge, 69, surprised him with an unexpected appearance from musician Billy Corgan – who had previously claimed that he and Burr might be half-brothers.

Speaking about the shocking stunt on Monday’s The Rich Eisen Show, Burr made it clear that he was less than impressed with Mandel for organizing the stunt.

‘Howie did what he did because he is a Hollywood wh**e and he doesn’t care what happens,’ the 56-year-old comedian raged. ‘He could’ve said something and he just brings up all that weirdness.’

He then noted that he was upset about the stunt because he doesn’t usually talk about personal aspects of his personal life in such a public forum.

Reflecting on his interaction with his potential half-sibling, Burr continued: ‘Billy’s fine. That’s the first time I ever met him and it was fine or whatever, but I did not appreciate what Howie did. Not at all.’

However, he hinted that he would soon get over his ongoing anger about the ambush as he added: ‘He’s Howie, so he’s sorta hard to hate.

‘How do you hate a germaphobe? He’s like, not threatening. He just walks with his arms in so he doesn’t rub against curtains that he owns… He’s a strange man.’

The controversy began in November when Corgan, 57, revealed on Howie Mandel Does Stuff that about ten years prior, his stepmother had claimed Burr ‘might be’ his brother.

He recalled: ‘She said: “Do you know who Bill Burr is? Bill Burr might be one of the children that your father sired in his days being a traveling musician.”‘

Corgan then noted that he believed it could be true because his father ‘did once tell me that I had a half-brother named Bill, who was born around the same time as me.’

Billy Corgan was born in March 1967, while Bill Burr was born the following year in June 1968.

However, Corgan later clarified that he didn’t really think the pair were actually related.

He explained: ‘It’s my belief at this point, because I’ve sat on the story for 10 years that I don’t think Bill Burr and I are related. I think it’s just one of those things. There are just people in the world that look alike.’

The duo then came face-to-face earlier this month when Mandel decided to organize a surprise ‘family reunion’ without any prior warning for Burr.

As soon as Corgan entered the room, Burr vocalized his annoyance and called Mandel an ‘a**hole’

‘He told me you were cool with me coming,’ Corgan admitted, to which Burr replied, ‘That’s what he does.’

As the duo sat and processed the situation, they soon united and teased Mandel for attempting to pull the stunt.

Burr quipped: ‘What was supposed to happen? Are we going to go play catch? We’re both in our 50s.’

Corgan added: ‘This is some Dr. Phil s**t you got going on.’

Burr then joked that Mandel’s plan had possibly worked too well as he noted: ‘I think we’re kind of on the same page in thinking you’re kind of a d**k right now.’

Mandel eventually admitted, ‘This is just uncomfortable’, and admitted hat he had been hoping to capture a ‘warm interaction.’

Burr made it clear that he had nothing against meeting Corgan as he explained: ‘It’s not that I don’t want to. It’s just… I don’t think this was the situation.

‘But I am happy that I’ve evolved enough as a person that I’m able to f***ing handle this.’

He took aim at Mandel again as he continued: ‘You’re not the guy to do this. This is outside your skillset. Because the first thing you needed to do was to actually give a f***, and you don’t because everything is funny to you.’

Corgan is best known as the co-founder, lead guitarist, primary songwriter, singer, and only constant member of alternative rock band The Smashing Pumpkins.
