Frank Ocean has sent fans into a meltdown after teasing a brief look at his new music.

The Chanel hitmaker, 36, took to his Instagram Story on Thursday to share the clip of a new track that has a runtime of just under four minutes, with no further explanation.

The tease is the first since the musician aired unreleased tracks on his Apple Music 1 Blonded Radio show in July 2022.

Since his acclaimed 2016 LP Blonde, fans have had a slew of singles, including DHL, In My Room, Cayendo and Dear April.

Despite the album receiving both commercial and critical success, Ocean opted not to submit it to the Grammys for consideration.

The songwriter told The New York Times: ‘That institution certainly has nostalgic importance…

‘It just doesn’t seem to be representing very well for people who come from where I come from, and hold down what I hold down.’

Hip-hop fans, who have been hungry for seven years for new music from the artist, went into pandemonium after they heard the new clip.

A music enthusiast penned: ‘WHAT THE F**K DO YOU MEAN WERE GETTING NEW FRANK OCEAN MUSIC!?!?!?! I MIGHT CRY.

The White Ferrari artist has previously suggested that new music was on the horizon during his performance at Coachella this year.

‘It’s been so long. Everybody talks about how long it’s been. ‘It’s been so long, it’s been so long,’ he said.

‘But I have missed you. I want to talk about why I’m here because it’s not because of a new album.’

‘It’s because – not that there’s not a new album, but there’s not right now. Chill, chill, chill. No, it’s not right now.’

The  star had previously made it known that he would release new music as one-off singles instead of album form, but he seemingly had a change of heart as he teased a new record on a poster for his merchandise.

The print noted that a ‘fictitious recording artist (seemingly Ocean) preferred ‘the singles distribution model as opposed to the long-form album model,’ as it was ‘more suited to modern consumption habits’.

The teaser came with the admission: ‘The Recording Artist has since changed his mind about the singles model, and is again interested in more durational bodies of work.’

The Swim Good hitmaker is no longer signed to a label, after splitting from Def Jam Recordings before the release of Blonde.

Shortly after teasing new music at Coachella, the Novacane singer eventually pulled out the festival’s second weekend, with Blink-182 stepping in to take his place.
