Residents of a tiny Suffolk village are up in arms over a luxury haunt of the rich and famous which has requested a 24-hour alcohol licence they fear will subject them to late night noise and traffic problems.
Blyth Barn in Huntingfield – set to be part of the Wilderness Reserve collection of exclusive holiday properties which is set over 8,000 acres in the county’s Yox Valley and frequented by stars including Jack Whitehall, Sandi Toksvig and influence Zoe Sugg – is under development and will boast a swimming pool, hot tub, sauna, gym and party room.
Once completed it will be available for £30,000 a night.
It will be able to host 288 guests – almost double the village’s 150 residents.
But the owners want to serve alcohol 24 hours a day, play live and recorded music indoors each day between 8am and 1am and provide late night refreshments each day between 11pm and 5am.
Locals say it will turn into an ‘all-singing, all-dancing entertainment centre’.
Among those to object to the plans is Huntingfield Parish Council, which warned: ‘It will be chaotic in the village centre.’
Local Lori Kingsley-Adams complained: ‘To turn a rural retreat into an all singing, all dancing entertainment centre is beyond the pale.’
Wilderness Reserve has been developed by billionaire property developer Jon Hunt, best known for founding Foxtons estate agency.
