The Block winners Steph and Gian will be returning for the hit show’s 20th anniversary this year.

But an insider at Nine has revealed the fan favourites won’t be competing.

No details have emerged of their exact role on the show, which is about to begin filming on Phillip Island in Victoria.

However Yahoo Lifestyle reports the couple, who walked away with a whopping $1.65million last year, will play an ‘ongoing’ part in the new series.

According to the report, contestants for the 20th anniversary series will be able to get access to Steph’s styling expertise.

Japandi is a unique home design aesthetic which combines both Japanese and Scandinavian styles and was heavily utilised for their gorgeous winning property.

‘We are focusing on a nicer, more wholesome season but no matter who we cast – the drama always presents itself,’ the the source said.

It comes after notorious contestant Kristy Beames, 34, said she would be happy to make a return to the hit show..

Kristy told Yahoo Lifestyle earlier this year if producers reached out she would be happy to be back on The Block.

She added if she does make it on to the show, viewers can expect her to be even more outspoken than she was in last year’s infamously ‘nasty’ season.
