Joanna Gaines during a renovation reveal surprised her husband Chip Gaines by inviting his famous friends Tim Tebow and Robert Griffin III to help.
The 46-year-old reality star and Chip, 49, celebrated with their friends and Fixer Upper collaborators during the season finale on Sunday of Fixer Upper: The Lakehouse.
The six-episode series marked the 10-year anniversary of Joanna and Chip renovating houses together and showed them taking on a home renovation project at a lake house in Waco, Texas.
‘Thank you guys for showing up. Jo doesn’t get to pull off grandiose surprises very often,’ Chip told Tim, 36, and Robert, 34.
‘You guys have been an inspiration to not just guys like myself and Tim Tebow, but to everybody around the country,’ Robert said.

‘Fixer Upper is not just about homes either. It’s about people’s lives and what y’all have done for hundreds and hundreds of families. You guys are an inspiration to so many,’ Tim said.
Tim and Robert said they were there for support and they handled the big reveal by rolling apart a huge billboard-sized image of the lake house. The couple previously worked with Robert and Tim on renovation projects that helped a military family and a family with boys with disabilities.
Joanna and Chip held hands and smiled as the reveal showed not only the renovated lake house, but people they worked with on the project as well past project partners.
‘It was like a big family reunion,’ Joanna said.
‘You know, being able to celebrate 10 years with these folks, and share the transformation of this lake house is really something special. And if they’d seen it on day one, the house looked a bit lifeless. The architecture that was really cool, wasn’t highlighted,’ Joanna said in a confessional.
Joanna then gave everyone a tour of the lake house.
‘Chip’s biggest influence on this project was the koi pond,’ Joanna said.
In a confessional, they both gushed about the koi pond.

‘Chip’s koi pond, I would say, is one of the most special features about this home. Right before you walk in the front door, you hear that water trickling. You see the fish swimming,’ Joanna said.
‘It’s almost like you take a bath for your soul right before you went into your home. You just feel like, maybe a little bit of the weight of the world is off your shoulders,’ Chip said.
Joanna urged their guests to come inside like it was an open house.
‘All right. Here we go. Without further ado, ladies and gentlemen, the lake house. Welcome home,’ Chip said.
The lake house improvements were pointed out by Joanna including a stunning view of the lake.
She pointed out the fireplace that kept its original arch as well as the marble detail in the kitchen and custom made tables and counters.
‘Did you see the secret pantry?,’ Joanna asked people.
She told Tim how they moved the kitchen around to improve the lake view and added natural light with skylights.
‘Hey, Chip, she just goes, ”Okay. Can we redo our house now?”,’ Tim said laughing while hugging his wife Demi-Leigh Tebow, 28. ‘What are y’all doing? What are you doing?’

Joanna pointed out that they kept a water fountain in the house because it’s cute ‘and Chip loved how nostalgic it was.’
She next showed off the ‘1960’s lounge’ as the rec room featured cherry wood paneling and custom built-in seating.
The tour continued upstairs with Joanna in the primary bedroom.
‘I would say the bed, to me, is the prettiest part of this bedroom. It’s this built-in bed that’s got the velvet headboard, the cherry wood, and then these vintage sconces that I think really bring it all together. The floors are beautiful. They’re original,’ Joanna said in a confessional.
Joanna also pointed to a custom sitting nook for reading or lounging.

The bathroom also impressed with its marble vanity, metal shower cage and black terracotta flooring.
Chip and Joanna then showed the lake view in the backyard and the refinished pool.
Joanna was glad that people gravitated toward the fire pit as she envisioned.
She told their guests that it was a big project and their 10-year anniversary felt significant as she thanked everyone for being there.
The series also showed Chip and Joanna welcoming a baby foal on their farm that delighted their son Crew, who recently celebrated turning six.
‘This is our fifth baby horse from this beautiful mare named Dolly. Crew is beside himself,’ Chip told the camera.
Chip asked Crew to tell him what happened.
