An angry airport passenger got more than he bargained for when he squared up against a Spirit Airlines employee and received a beatdown from four of them.

Wild footage from Baltimore Airport about 4.15pm on Tuesday shows the traveler getting angry with one of the check-in staff and spoiling for a fight.

‘Let’s go… you going to jail today,’ he said.

The male employee accepted his challenge but was immediately backed up by three of his colleagues who ganged up on the man almost immediately.

Just as the warring factions were closing in, a Spirit staffer in an unbuttoned white shirt sprints into view and throws a haymaker at the passenger.

From there, the fight is four on one as one of the Spirit staff members locks him in place while the others lay into him, before he’s tackled to the floor.

They manage to subdue him on the floor with the help of barrier ropes, with one yelling, ‘I’ll f**k you up, b***h, get up’.

But just as he’s given up, one of the employees takes a cheap shot at his head.

‘Whoa, y’all about to get sued,’ the man taking the video remarked.

What initially sparked the brawl is still unclear.

The Maryland Transportation Authority Police said one of the combatants suffered minor injuries in the brawl.

‘All involved parties were provided with victims’ rights and services information, including information about filing criminal charges at the local commissioner’s office,’ it said.

Spirit said the brawling staff were not airline employees but contractors employed by an outsourcing company.

‘Our vendor has suspended four of their employees involved pending an investigation into the matter,’ it said.

‘We do not tolerate violence of any kind, and we will take appropriate action as necessary following the completion of the vendor’s investigation.’
