Bloody noses, black eyes, and gushing cuts were on full display at The Hangar as bare knuckle boxers brawled it out in the ring on Friday.
Droves of punters descended on the West Midlands venue, loudly cheering on as competitors beat each other black and blue.
The fighters emerged to pumping soundtracks and plumes of stage smoke as they made their way to the boxing ring inside a West Midlands auditorium.
Fighting without boxing gloves saw competitors sustain some gory injuries, and swollen eyelids as they traded blows before baying fans.
However after a night filled with violence, blood, and bruises, even the losers are keen to get back in the ring.
The BYB Extreme Fighting put on their 33rd show in the West Midlands last weekend – truly living up to their name.
The aptly named ‘Wolverhampton Brawl’ included 11 fights, as bare knuckle brawlers went head to head in the ‘Trigon’.
A traditional boxing ring is usually square – however the same rules don’t apply in the world of bare knuckle boxing with the arena shaped like a triangle.
The gruesome sporting event is becoming more and more common across the world, as competitors leave each other far more bloody than a regular boxing match.
The event wasn’t short of black eyes either, with BYB Cruiseweight Champion Marko Martinjak achieving the quickest knockout in the sports history against Bradley Scott.
Also known as The Bear, Scott took to social media a day post-loss: ‘I wish I got knocked out last night because I wouldn’t have felt my eye, unfortunately I was alright.’
‘I felt good I am gutted I lost. My eye just went black – I thought I was blind turns out I just had blood in the eye.’
Tyrone Eliffe and Keven Greenwood took their war of words into the Trigon with Greenwood emerging victorious in the bare knuckle battle.
After the loss, Tyrone said: ‘We are keeping fit and keeping sharp and we will take that loss and turn it into a win with motivation.
‘But the fight I look at it and watched it back numerous times, it was a good fight. I was up against a good strong opponent so we live we learn.
He added: ‘We come back bigger better and stronger
‘Don’t take that loss as me done because I am far from done, a loss is a lesson put it that way.’
