Three people have been injured during a horror accident at a festival after a minivan plowed through the crowd.
A woman driving a red minivan crashed through the KIPONA Festival in Pennsylvania about 6pm on Monday night, sparking chaos as terrified revelers ran to safety.
A child, a woman in a wheelchair and another adult were injured during the incident, Harrisburg Police Commissioner Thomas Carter told ABC.
The driver is in custody.
The car crashed through South Front Street, where vendors had set up their stalls.
An ABC27 News reporter was there at the time of the crash and recalled witnessing people screaming and running.
She described it as a ‘chaotic scene.’
One of the festival vendors, Lottie Beauverd, told the publication ‘this car came flying down through here fast.’
‘Not yelling or anything, but just flying down through this.’
The minivan sustained damage to the bumper and hood, while debris was seen around the scene of the incident.
Yellow crime police tape has been set up around the vicinity of the incident as police invesigate the crash.
The festival was just wrapping up after three days of carnival rides, food and art vendors and cultural performances when the crash occurred.
It takes place every year during Labor Day weekend, running from Friday to Monday.
This is a breaking news story. More to come.
