The n limited series Boy Swallows Universe was released on Netflix last week.

And Felix Cameron, who plays younger son in the Bell family, has revealed he kept a souvenir from the set while filming the series.

The actor, 14, told Punkee, he got to keep a fake finger used in the series and has stored it in a plastic bag at home.

In the show, Felix’s character Eli has his finger cut off by criminals during a dispute with his drug-dealing stepfather Lyle. 

Speaking about what it was like wearing the finger, he said: ‘They chucked a fake finger on the top and it feels really weird when you feel [it] coming off.’

‘It was realistic [and] a bit scary… then they’ll say ‘Cut!’ and [the thug] would say, ‘Sorry, did that hurt you?’ 

‘I’ve actually got it on top of my chest of drawers at home… in a little plastic bag.’

Adapted from Trent Dalton’s iconic novel, Boy Swallows Universe is an extraordinary tale that explores the trials and tribulations of two brothers – Eli (Felix) and August (Lee Halley) – who grow up in 1980s suburban Brisbane.

The series was released in full on January 11, and plenty of Netflix subscribers have already binged their way through all seven-plus hours – hailing the show as ‘beautiful and brilliant.’

Staying true to its Aussie roots, the series stars an A-List lineup of n actors, including Phoebe Tonkin as Frances Bell, Eli’s mother.

The Brisbane-filmed show has stormed into the Netflix global Top Five streaming chart, with 3.8 million viewers watching it in the first four days of its release.

The drama also reached the top ten in 47 countries, including America, the UK, Canada, France, Germany and .

This phenomenal result makes it one of the most popular TV shows ever filmed in Queensland, and it has been only been out for a week. 

Screen Queensland CEO Jacqui Feeney told the Courier Mail she was delighted to see international audiences engage with a uniquely n story.

‘Screen Queensland is thrilled to see how audiences around the world have been captivated by this most Brisbane of stories.’
