Tease your brain with this seemingly simple scavenger hunt for a copious amount of cats.
Reddit user RastroBoy, shared a picture on the site’s Find the Sniper Thread encouraging commenters to count the number of kitties that were hidden in plain sight.
The photo showed the poster lounging on a porch surrounded by a lot of feline friends.
Cats of all shapes, sizes, and colors relaxed on steps, handrails, shelves, window sills, and even on picnic tables.
At first finding the entire herd may seem simple.
But commenters quickly realized that the poster’s furry companions blended in with their surroundings and even each other, allowing them to hide in plain sight.
Now it’s your turn to see if the clever cats stump you too.
How many can you find in just 30 seconds?
Commenters found the majority of the cats in the photo with ease. But due to subtle tricks of the eyes, hardly anyone was able to find every single one.
The most common answers for Reddit users was between 19 and 20 cats, leaving them just shy of the grand total.
How many did you see?
According to the poster and subject of the photo the grand total was 22.
He even chimed in in the comment section to give struggling searchers a couple of hints.
He wrote: ’22 is the answer! The toughest ones are located:
‘There are not just one but 2 on the handrail, a black and a brown. There’s a calico one on the porch in the corner behind the 2 b/w cats. There’s a black one upon a table in the front window which looks black too.’
A handful of guessers were successful, finding the right total on their very first try.
But a few people saw cats that weren’t even there. Their counts came out to 24, 23, and even 30.
Although RastroBoy rated the puzzle on an ‘easy’ level, it did seem to stump quite a few wannabe detectives.
One or two even gave up mid-count and commented: ‘A lot! That’s a lot of cats.’
Another said: ‘A bunch.’
A third countered: ‘Not enough.’
