Alert – FBI launches investigation after Trump campaign claimed sensitive documents were ‘hacked’ by Iran

The FBI has launched an investigation into the alleged hack of Donald Trump’s campaign communications last Friday.

The bureau confirmed on Monday it was looking into the breach that is believed to have involved documents related to J.D. Vance’s vetting.

The campaign blamed ‘foreign sources hostile to the United States’ and cited a Microsoft report on Friday that Iranian hackers attempted to hack a high-ranking official of a presidential campaign.

Politico reported that they had started receiving emails from an anonymous account with documents from inside Trump’s operation.

Senior officials in the Trump campaign claim sensitive files were stolen, and pinned the blame on Tehran.

Iran’s mission to the United Nations, when asked about the claim of the Trump campaign, denied being involved.

Vice President Kamala Harris gushed about Nancy Pelosi at a San Francisco fundraiser Sunday night, hours after President Joe Biden spoke in an interview about the former speaker’s role in the pressure campaign to push him out.

‘There is so much about the future of our country that has relied on leaders like Nancy Pelosi that have the grit, the determination, the brilliance to know what’s possible and to make it so,’ Harris enthused in her home state.

Pelosi cheered Biden, whose decision has breathed new life into Democrats and reshaped the polls. ‘Isn’t this a day to take pride in our candidate for president?’ Pelosi said.

She even compared elections to the Olympics, which ended with an elaborate closing ceremony, noting the tiny gap between earning the bronze and winning the gold. ‘Elections are that close,’ she said, adding that Harris ‘makes us all so proud.’ The event hauled in $12 million for Harris’ campaign.

‘Absolutely,’ said White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, when she was asked whether Biden would sign legislation ending tax on tips.

‘This is something that the president supports. He supports eliminating taxes on tips for service and hospitality workers while also raising minimum wage and preventing the wealthy from from gaming the system.’

The issue is now the subject of a tug-of-war between election candidates.

Virginia cops are trying to track down a suspect caught on surveillance camera after a break-in was reported at a Donald Trump campaign office.

The Loudon County Sheriff’s Office released an image of the man wearing a black baseball cap and backpack in the office in Ashburn.

Las Vegas police rushed to secure a local hospital and the roads leading to it on the day Joe Biden was diagnosed with COVID.

Conspiracy theorists argued the president was sicker than the White House revealed. And local outlets reported that law enforcement and medical teams gathered at Valley Hospital to prepare for Biden’s arrival.

President Biden did not seek medical treatment at the hospital but instead went to the airport and departed Las Vegas on Air Force One to self-isolate at his beach home in Rehoboth, Delaware.

But police recordings from July 17th, obtained by DailyMail.com, show the hospital was ready to receive the president as law enforcement noted: ‘POTUS is 421,’ which is police code for a sick or injured person.

‘For everyone on the radio. Right now POTUS is 421. He’s being seen so we’re kind of waiting to see how this is shaping out,’ the dispatcher said. ‘He’s 421 right now. We’re just trying to figure out what is going on and we’re going to go from there.’

Congress is set to return to D.C. next month to another major spending headache, and the House Freedom Caucus is ready with its hardline demands.

Lawmakers face a September 30 deadline to renew funding for all government agencies or else there will be a government shutdown.

Further complicating matters, the roughly 50-member ultra-conservative Freedom Caucus is demanding that any deal to reauthorize spending include a ban to keep illegal immigrants from voting.

They specifically want a piece of conservative legislation, the SAVE Act, attached which would require proof of citizenship to vote in the presidential election.

But the inclusion of the bill would prompt an outcry from Democrats, who would never support such legislation.

And because Republicans have a slim majority and need all GOP members (including the Freedom Caucus) to vote for a spending package, a government shutdown would be almost certain.

AI experts say the image of Kamala Harris’ rally does show hallmarks of being heavily edited — though this was probably done using basic filters rather than AI.

Donald Trump caused a furor over the weekend after claiming the picture had been ‘A.I.’d’ to boost the size of Harris’ crowd in Michigan and exaggerate her popularity.

The former president and some of his online supports pointed to the unusual lack of crowd reflection on the plane’s turbine as evidence the image had been doctored.

DailyMail.com spoke to several tech experts who ran the image through software that checks for evidence of AI manipulation. They concluded there was only a four percent chance it has been warped using the software.

But it’s possible the photo had been heavily filtered and edited, they said. And the plane’s curved reflective surface also creates an illusion where objects above and below the surface are most visible and dominate the reflection, they added.

The U.S. is preparing for Iran or its proxies to attack Israel as soon as this week, according to White House national security spokesman John Kirby.

He confirmed Monday that the U.S. is increasing its military presence in the region and said that President Joe Biden had talked with European allies about support for Israel.

It comes after Israeli officials said they expected to come under attack within days, in retaliation for the recent killing of key Hamas and Hizbollah leaders.

‘We share the same concerns and expectations that our Israeli counterparts have with respect to potential timing … could be this week,’ said Kirby on a briefing call with reporters.

‘We’re continuing to watch it very, very closely, and it is difficult to ascertain at this particular time if there is an attack by Iran and or its proxies, what that could look like, but we have to be prepared for what could be a significant set of attacks.’

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre replied to questions about President Joe Biden’s relationship with former Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

On Sunday, Biden finally admitted that Pelosi’s concerns about other Democratic races contributed to his decision to exit the race.

Both Hillary and Bill Clinton and former President Barack Obama will receive primetime speaking slots at next week’s Democratic National Convention in Chicago.

NBC reported Monday on the tentative schedule for the week.

President Joe Biden will pass the baton to his Vice President Kamala Harris on Monday night.

Hillary Clinton is also scheduled to speak Monday night.

Tuesday night’s main speaker will be former President Barack Obama.

And then former President Bill Clinton will be given a turn Wednesday night.

On Thursday, Harris will give her speech to accept the Democratic nomination, with her VP pick, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, speaking that final night too.

Former President Donald Trump returned to X for the first time in 2024 ahead of his Monday night interview with the site’s owner, Elon Musk.

ABC News is hosting a presidential debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump on September 10, but the network is revealed to have a major conflict of interest.

It’s no secret that Vice President Harris has a close, personal friendship with Dana Walden, the co-chair of Disney Entertainment, which owns ABC News.

She even credits the exec for her marriage to Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff.

Some have also said that ABC shouldn’t host the debate because Trump is suing its longtime host George Stephanopoulos for defamatory comments made on air.

Former President Donald Trump is readying a $100 million lawsuit that accuses AG Merrick Garland and FBI Director Chris Wray of running a ‘malicious prosecution’ against him.

The suit, which comes two years after the 2022 search that yielded a trove of 300 documents marked ‘classified’ from Trump’s Florida club, comes after Trump-appointed Judge Aileen Cannon dismissed the case brought by special counsel Jack Smith against Trump.

The suit claims a ‘clear intent to engage in political persecution’ against the former president.

The search, which occurred while Trump was away, comes from actions ‘rooted in intrusion upon seclusion, malicious prosecution, and abuse of process resulting from the August 8, 2022 raid of his and his family’s home at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach Florida,’ according to the suit prepared by Trump lawyer Daniel Epstein.

The actions of the DOJ and FBI are ‘inconsistent with protocols requiring the consent of an investigative target, disclosure to that individual’s attorneys, and the use of the local U.S. Attorney’s Office,’ he writes, in a document obtained by Fox News.

Doug Emhoff revealed what world leaders told him at the Olympics about his wife Kamala Harris’ campaign for president.

The second gentleman led the U.S. delegation for the Summer Games closing ceremony while Harris was campaigning back in the United States.

‘I cannot tell you,’ Emhoff said, ‘how many leaders here have already whispered to me: ‘Thank you. You need to win.’

He made his comments at a fundraiser in Paris for his wife’s campaign, the Washington Post reported.

Now that Kamala Harris is the Democratic presidential nominee, renewed attention is being paid to the more than $1.1 million that the California Justice Department paid to settle claims with employees who alleged they were sexually harassed or retaliated against by co-workers while she was the state’s attorney general.

The payments were made from 2011 to 2017 and first came to light in 2019, when Harris was a senator from California and had announced her presidential bid for the 2020 contest. Before she was a senator, she oversaw California’s Justice Department.

Harris, a champion and supporter of the #MeToo movement, said she hadn’t know about the claims until the Los Angeles Times, which broke the story of the payments, brought attention to them.

She dropped out of the 2020 primary and went on to be Joe Biden’s running mate. After Biden dropped out of the presidential race last month, she became the Democratic nominee. If she wins the election in November, she will be the first female president of the United States.

Harris has made women’s reproductive rights one of her key issues in the contest. The overturning of Roe v. Wade proved a motivating factor for many women – and Democrats in general – to vote in the 2022 midterm elections. The party hopes it will do the same this cycle.

New Jersey Democrat Rep. Bill Pascrell, 87, was rushed back to the hospital over the weekend after being in and out of medical care facilities over the past month.

The second-oldest House member is planning to run for reelection. He has until August 27 to drop out of the race.

He first checked into the hospital with breathing issues on July 14 and was treated for a respiratory infection. The condition became more serious and required breathing assistance during the weekend of July 20, and he had been discharged on August 7.

Kamala Harris’ running mate Tim Walz is hitting the road for his first solo events as Democratic vice presidential nominee this week.

The Minnesota governor will be addressing union members on Tuesday in Los Angeles. Walz, who is a former union member, is giving prepared remarks at the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) 2024 convention.

It’s the largest trade union of public service employees in the country with 1.3 million members.

From there, he will then be hitting the trail for his first fundraising blitz as Harris’ running mate. Walz will be appearing at five separate events in five different states over three days including in California, Colorado, Massachusetts, New York and Rhode Island.

President Joe Biden wrapped up his weekend at his Rehoboth Beach house Monday morning, boarding Marine One as he makes his way to the White House.

It capped off a long weekend getaway that began Thursday night where the president lounged on the beach with wife Jill and granddaughter Naomi and biked around the marshy area that surrounds his second home.

The president was content not to make news, avoiding comment on the war in Gaza, Russia, and Trump’s political attacks. At the same time, Vice President Kamala Harris enjoys her polling ‘honeymoon’ and rival Donald Trump struggles through one of the most difficult patches of his campaign to retake the White House.

There will be plenty to keep him busy back home even in his ‘recalibrated’ role.

Donald Trump accused Kamala Harris of ‘flip-flopping’ on everything and said she is copying him so much that she ‘sounds more like Trump than Trump.’

The Vice President directly copied a unique policy proposal from Trump where she promised during a rally in Nevada over the weekend to eliminate taxes on tips.

It came two months after Trump made the same promise and said the idea came from when he was speaking to highly-tipped workers in Las Vegas.

Former President Donald Trump has claimed his opponent Kamala Harris is faking the size of her rally, as he posted what he called an ‘AI doctored photo’ – even though there is no evidence that the photo was manipulated.

At issue is an image that emerged from a Harris-Walz rally at the Detroit Metro Airport on Wednesday that shows a large crowd standing in front of Air Force Two – the official airplane of the vice president.

Right-wingers have wrongfully alleged that inconsistencies in the news photo reveal that it was digitally manipulated – pointing to a lack of a reflection on the plane’s turbine.

But the size of the crowd could easily be proven by videos of the event.

Still, Trump seized on the issue on Sunday, claiming on his Truth Social platform that Harris ‘AI’d it.’

Elon Musk revealed that his conversation with Donald Trump on Monday evening will be held live on X.

The former president will return to the platform to host the talk with the billionaire on his own account after remaining mostly absent since 2021 when he was banned by then-Twitter owner Jack Dorsey.

Musk vowed he will run ‘system scaling tests’ ahead of the conversations with Trump.

It comes after a botched campaign rollout on X with Ron DeSantis last year when the Florida Governor was launching his Republican presidential primary bid.

The only activity Trump has made on his X account since January 8, 2021 was coming back on to post in August 2023 an image of his now famous mug shot from Fultin County prison.

With just 12 days to spare before the one-year anniversary of that post, Trump will come back on the platform for his highly-anticipated talk with Musk.

Kamala Harris is making up ground that President Joe Biden was struggling to earn from young voters this election cycle.

The vice president’s approval rating among voters between 18 and 29 years old surged from 33 percent last month to 49 percent now, according to a new poll from left-leaning Won’t PAC Down.

Biden, 81, was lagging in the polls when he was still in the race mostly due to losing support among younger voters.

But now, with 59-year-old Harris at the top of the ticket, this voting bloc has growing enthusiasm for the November election.

In a five-way race, Harris beats Donald Trump by 9 percentage points among these Millennial and Gen Z registered voters, which is a 10-point jump from last month when Biden was trailing the former president.

The battalion commander who ran Tim Walz’s former unit has slammed the vice presidential nominee over claims of ‘stolen valor’.

Kamala Harris’ running mate has already been forced to backtrack on claims of having ‘carried’ weapons of war in combat during his 24 years in the Army National Guard and faced claims of being a 'coward' from family members of soldiers.

Harris has also been put in the unenviable position of confronting claims that Walz misrepresented his rank when he retired from the National Guard.

Now Lieutenant Colonel John Kolb, the man who would take over Walz’s unit after the governor quit in 2005, has obliterated the Democrat for claiming the rank of Command Sergeant Major and for retiring before deployment to Iraq.

Kolb wrote in a Facebook post that Walz ‘did not earn the rank’ and added that ‘it is an affront to the Noncommissioned Officer Corps that he continues to glom onto the title.’

A US carrier strike group has been rushed to the Middle East as new Israeli intelligence suggests Iran will launch an attack within a matter of days.

US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin ordered a guided missile submarine to the Middle East late Sunday, telling the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier strike group to move quickly into the area, the Defense Department announced.

The move came just hours after Austin spoke with Israeli Minister of Defense Yoav Gallant, Maj. Gen. Pat Ryder, the Pentagon press secretary, announced.

During that conversation, Gallant told Austin that Iranian military preparations suggest that the country is getting ready for a large-scale attack in retaliation for the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh – the political leader of Hamas, Axios reports.

His assassination, as well as that of Hezbollah’s senior military commander Fuad Shukr by Israel in a strike on Beirut, have fueled concern of a larger war within the Middle East.

A veteran Republican pollster has warned that Donald Trump is ‘destroying his re-election chance’ after the ex-president fell behind Kamala Harris in recent polls.

Frank Luntz, dubbed ‘the Nostradamus of pollsters’, said last week that Harris is slightly favored to win – and now he has revealed why he believes Trump is flagging: ‘The campaign is disciplined; their candidate is not.’

‘[Trump] is single-handedly destroying his chance for re-election. This is the weakest Democratic nominee in terms of record in a long time but his insistence on making the attacks personal and vicious are blunting their impact and, in fact, backfiring on him,’ Luntz told The Guardian.

It comes amid reports that Trump’s recent broadsides, including claims Harris ‘happened to turn black’, have spooked donors. The vice president, on the other hand, is enjoying a honeymoon period with the liberal media falling over themselves to promote her campaign and pollsters tipping her to take the White House.

Luntz says that Trump can regain the momentum by focusing on two key issues: the border crisis, which Harris disastrously presided over, and the flailing economy.

‘Right now I think Trump’s gonna lose because he’s incapable of sticking to a message about inflation or immigration,’ Luntz said.
