Just two days after he passed away after collapsing on stage, the family of Fatman Scoop has released a statement. 

The rapper – born Isaac Freeman III – was performing on stage in Hamden, Connecticut on Friday when he collapsed and was administered CPR.

He was rushed to a local hospital and pronounced dead on Saturday, with his final words said to be, ‘If you came to party … make some noise.’

The rapper’s family took to his verified Instagram on Saturday to release an official statement about his passing.

The statement reveals his life as a beloved family man with two children who will be missed immensely.

‘It is with profound sadness and very heavy hearts that we share news of the passing of legendary and iconic Fatman Scoop,’ the statement begins.

‘Last night, the world lost a radiant soul, a beacon of light on the stage and in life,’ the family continued. 

‘Fatman Scoop was not just a world-class performer, he was a father, brother, uncle, and a friend. He was laughter in our lives, a constant source of support, unwavering strength, and courage,” the statement added.

‘Fatman Scoop was known to the world as the undisputed voice of the club,’ the statement added.

‘His music made us dance and embrace life with positivity. His joy was infectious and the generosity he extended to all will be deeply missed but never forgotten,’ the family said. 

‘As we mourn the loss of Fatman Scoop, we also celebrate his remarkable life and the countless lives he touched,’ the statement continued. 

‘Fatman Scoop’s legacy is of love and brightness, it will reside in our hearts and memories forever,’ the statement concluded.

Lil Jon wrote in a comment, ‘REST WELL BROTHER’ while Scoops frequent collaborator Timbaland and Fat Joe both appeared lost for words and posted a string of emojis.

Freeman’s manager, DJ and producer Birch Michael, announced the rapper’s death ‘with the heaviest of hearts’ in posts to social media on Saturday morning.
