An Evri delivery driver who was filmed hurling a parcel across a driveway like a frisbee was ‘too busy chatting up the neighbours’, according to the mother who received the ‘shattered’ jigsaw.
Bethany Butlin, from Keighley, West Yorkshire, wasn’t home when she received the delivery notification that a jigsaw for her son had arrived, but was appalled when she saw how it had been delivered.
Analysing her CCTV footage to investigate, the mother was soon presented with the reason for the damage: an Evri driver who had chucked the parcel towards the door instead of walking a few feet up the path to safely deliver it.
The mother-of-two said she’d waited weeks for her Temu delivery, which contained a wooden pirate ship jigsaw for her son, and was devastated to find it had shattered from the blow.
After posting the video online, many flooded the comments section with some pointing out that he appeared to be more interested in ‘chatting up’ her female neighbours.

Ms Butlin said Evri have since got in touch with the carer to rectify the situation by offering her compensation and removing the driver from their service.
The mother, from Keighley, Yorkshire said: ‘It looks like he’s used it as a frisbee and he’s just launched it into the garden, it’s very disrespectful.
‘It’s quite appalling really, in a street full of people as well.
‘There’s no excuse for that behaviour though.
‘My friend had a parcel in the same area delivered by the driver and he apparently chucked parcels in their garden too, so he just seems very lazy.’
She said she was ‘shocked’ by the way it was treated and horrified that the gift for her son was left shattered on her doorstep.
Ms Butlin said: ‘It was a present for my little boy. It was one of these jigsaws that comes in pieces and it had just slammed together.
‘I couldn’t give that to my little boy after it’s been thrown around the garden. It was broken and shattered.
‘The service I got that day was absolutely shocking.
‘If you’re working for a company, you should not in a million years be treating someone’s personal belongings like that.
‘It was only a couple of weeks ago I ordered a lamp, so I was glad it wasn’t glass.’
Repeatedly glancing at the group, as he snaps a photo of the house, the driver double checks his phone before throwing the parcel frisbee-style up the garden path
As he approaches the home, the driver can be seen focusing his attention on a group of people hanging around his vehicle, which had left unlocked
The mother was left fuming after catching her the driver launching her parcel into the garden
The mother had been on the school run when she received the notification that her package had been delivered, with the photo showing the package being held up outside her garden.
It was doorbell footage that revealed how it had been delivered.
She said: ‘We have CCTV so I checked the footage at the time. It said it had been delivered and that’s when I saw it.
‘I put the video on Facebook and there must be some people in that group who work for Evri because I had an email from them asking to resolve the issue.
‘I have to give them their due, they’ve been brilliant. They made it a priority and within a couple of hours it was resolved and the driver has been removed from the service.
‘I’d use Evri again, it isn’t the company’s fault, it’s the drivers they hire.
‘Maybe there should be more training or possibly the ratings need to be used more often for the drivers to get more work.’
Ms Butlin posted the video online that racked up 168 likes and 86 comments.
One person said: ‘Appalling behaviour for a delivery driver but why am I not surprised! Looks like he was more interested in gossiping or chatting up those women.’
One said: ‘I’m an Evri driver and all I can say is I’m glad I don’t deliver like that!’
Another wrote: ‘The driver is absolutely useless and should be fired for incompetence.’
An Evri spokesperson said previously: ‘Our ambition is that every customer’s experience is a positive one. We’ve apologised and provided a goodwill payment.
‘This delivery falls below the standards we expect and the courier will no longer be delivering on behalf of Evri.
‘They added: ‘We work with over 20,000 couriers on a day-to-day basis, the vast majority of which are honest and hard-working local people, delivering parcels in their own communities with an average star rating of 4.7 out of 5.’
