A kite surfer has reportedly been blown into power lines before landing on a road on the NSW Central Coast.

Emergency services rushed to Ettalong on Monday morning following reports a kite surfer was injured.

The kite surfer was lifted from the surf by the wind and was caught in power lines before landing on the road, reports said.

A Careflight helicopter landed at Lemon Grove Park and has since departed for the Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney.

It comes as wild weather hit the region, with emergency services responding to more than 350 calls for help as conditions ramped up on Sunday night.

The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a severe weather warning of heavy rainfall, damaging winds and dangerous surf conditions stretching from NSW’s mid-north coast to the Central Coast.

Strong southeasterly winds averaging 50 to 70km/h, with damaging wind gusts of around 90km/h are expected over the coastal areas of the Hunter and Mid North Coast on Monday and Tuesday, BoM warned.
