alert-–-estate-agent-praises-‘spacious’-500,000-mayfair-micro-apartment…-that-is-the-size-of-two-parking-spacesAlert – Estate agent praises ‘spacious’ £500,000 Mayfair micro-apartment… that is the size of two parking spaces

Estate agents praised a ‘spacious’ studio apartment the size of two parking spaces, which is for sale for half a million in the prestigious London district of Mayfair.

The 273 sq ft studio has an asking price of twice the price of the average UK house and comes with classic architecture and a porter service.

However, despite the small size of the property, an estate agent claims it is a perfect opportunity for investors or those seeking a central London home.

The listing, by Lixing, Mayfair, describes the property on the prestigious Berkeley Street as having a ‘spacious studio layout’ with ‘well-designed living space’, a modern shower room and fitted kitchen.

Lixing is an estate agency and property consultancy based in London which caters to both the UK market and clients from abroad.

They market prestige properties in areas such as Montpelier Square, Bickenhall Mansions and Mayfair.

Mayfair is one of the world’s glamorous destinations home to premium bars, restaurants, hotels and garden squares, bordered by Hyde Park.

Celebrities such as Jimi Hendrix, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Harry Styles and even Oscar Wilde have called the affluent London district home.

Estate agents describe the property as: ‘A charming and well-presented studio apartment set within an elegant period building with porter service, offering an enviable address in the heart of Mayfair.’

Berkeley Street is moments from Berkeley Square where Winston Churchill and PG Woodhouse’s fictional character Bertie Wooste famously lived.

The building is sandwiched between the prestigious Chiefer Jewellery and upmarket coffee spot, Shot.

A short walk from Green Park Underground Station – which is served by the Jubilee, Victoria and Piccadilly lines – the property is close to world-class restaurants, boutique shopping, and cultural hotspots in Mayfair and Piccadilly.

Berkeley Square was laid out in the mid-18th century by the architect William Kent and the garden’s very large trees are among the oldest in central London.

Despite the enviable postcode, the property works out at more than £1,830 per sq ft.

When compared to more affordable parts of the country like Yorkshire this could be seen as poor value for money.

In West Ella, a village on the eastern edge of the scenic Yorkshire Wold, half a million could afford you a five-bedroom detached house with two driveways and spacious garden.

In Fixby, a sought-after suburban location of Huddersfield, £500,000 could buy a six-bedroom, four-bathroom former shooting lodge with 3,000 sq ft of accommodation.

However Mayfair is located in zone one of London, making it an ideal location for people working in the city.

The property has a guide price of £500,000 to £550,000.

The average price of a studio flat in the UK was £175,000 in 2022.

But prices vary substantially around the UK from £66,500 in the North East to £313,500 in London, with prices leaping for sought-after locations.

The listing follows the trend of other tiny flats in London which have been going for eye-watering sums of money.

showed a similar studio on the market for £1,500-a-month in Camden.
