Darcy Parish has just become a father for the first time.
The Essendon midfielder and his wife Grace Stanton took to social media on Sunday to announce the birth of their first child, a son named Tommy.
The popular pair shared a photo to Instagram that showed the newborn, complete with a gorgeous shock of black hair, sleeping soundly in a crib alongside a card reading ‘He’s here’ and a cute stuffed bunny.
‘Our beautiful son decided to grace us with his presence earlier than expected and we are totally smitten,’ the new parents captioned the photo.
‘Welcome to the big wide world Tommy Leo Parish, you are perfect to us in every way.’
The couple’s fans were quick to offer hearty congratulations on the auspicious news, with many echoing the sentiment that he was ‘perfect’.
‘Soo happy for you and Darcy, Grace!! Congratulations! I hope you’re doing well and welcome to the world Tommy,’ one follower gushed.
Another chimed in: ‘YAY a little boy! Congratulations guys, he is just the cutest.’

The pair took to Instagram in January to announce they were expecting, with images showing the loved-up couple holding a set of ultrasound images while Grace lovingly cradled her baby bump.
‘Feeling well and just so grateful for this journey. Just to keep things interesting (I’m due) right in footy season! A little baby Bomber!’ they wrote.
Darcy married his long-term partner Grace in a romantic ceremony in Geelong, Victoria, in January last year.
The footballer and his gorgeous bride exchanged vows at Mt Duneed Estate in Waurn Ponds, surrounded by family and friends.

After the ceremony, the newlyweds partied the night away with their 197 guests.
Grace told the Herald Sun ahead of the big day: ‘We’ve been together for eight years and couldn’t be more ready to embark on this next chapter.’
‘We see it as one big party with all our favourite people,’ she added.
‘I’m feeling the anticipation of walking down the aisle, but I know by my dad’s side and as soon as I see Darcy, I’ll be ecstatic.
‘We are saying our own personal vows to one another, which I’m looking forward to. Hearing what Darcy has to say will no doubt make me feel emotional.’
The couple got engaged in September, 2022, while on holiday in Fiji.
