At least 13 people have died after a boat carrying dozens of migrants capsized off the French coast, sparking a major rescue operation in the English Channel.
Early reports indicate up to 70 people may have been on board the vessel when it sank near Boulogne-sur-Mer in northern France this morning. Local officials say there have been at least 13 deaths.
Police, firefighters and a Navy helicopter have been scrambled to the scene where at least one person has reportedly been brought back to land.
