20:38
'Shaw change hasn't worked'
The Shaw change hasn’t worked. He’s not getting forward into the space Trippier was. England have faded here and feels like they could be holding on final 10mins. It’s getting into “Gareth, do something!!” territory.

England have shifted to four at the back here, with Kyle Walker now at right-back and Bukayo Saka having much more freedom down the right wing. Interesting decision but clearly Gareth Southgate wanted to get Luke Shaw on so they could offer more of a threat down the left.

I can’t be the only one who did not want that half to end. And I can’t be the only one who is surprised by how good that half was. What a spectacle.
England the better side, but the Dutch have had their chances too and one each is probably a fair scoreline given that the penalty was a tad fortunate. I can see Ronald Koeman rolling the dice first though.

'Yellow Wall is Orange'
The Yellow Wall is the Orange Wall tonight, with the odd white brick in there. This is definitely Netherlands (away) for England, and they must be out-numbered by three to one at least. Saying that, there is a strong England contingent behind one goal, which could be significant if this goes to penalties…
18:45
'England fans are in fine voice'
Well, the rain has stopped here and the England fans are in fine voice. They’re going to have to be too because England are heavily outnumbered by the Dutch inside the ground.
I reckon about two-thirds of those inside are Netherlands fans and that orange wall is going to be quite a sight. Plenty of England flags though and plenty of colour. Let’s hope we get plenty of entertainment.

Rice: 'We're relishing tonight'
It’s been a rollercoaster but we’re really relishing it tonight. We’ve overcome some storms in the last few weeks and tonight is a big night for English football. [The formation] gives us outlets. Kobbie [Mainoo] next to me, I’ve been singing his praises. He loves to keep the ball and pass it.
When you drive in, you see all of the orange shirts and then you see the England shirts. We need to make the most of it. It’s about togetherness tonight above everything.

Gareth Southgate: 'We've felt the support'
I’m looking forward to the game. I said at the beginning of the tournament, we were too concerned with what could go wrong. We used the ball better in the quarter-finals. We obviously play a team that are another notch up from Switzerland.
Bukayo [Saka] can play higher. The team are settled. I think Marc [Guehi] has been excellent and we’ve got Luke [Shaw] who is very close to starting games.
We’ve felt that over the last few days. We said if we’re united with our fans then that gives everything a huge boost and I think we’ve got that now. It might seem normal to be a third semi-final but that is not the reality. You have to grasp these opportunites.

'My prediction is 2:1 to the Netherlands'
Sami Mokbel, our Chief Football Reporter, has already told us that the only change to tonight’s England team will be Marc Guehi for Ezri Konsa. I would have liked to have seen Cole Palmer come in for Phil Foden, who I think has been far from his best at this tournament.
But Gareth Southgate has shown loyalty to his players right the way through this tournament and he clearly believes they have it in them to improve and get this job done. I think this one may be a step too far from England. My prediction is 2:1 to the Netherlands.

Shearer: 'You don't leave out your captain'
I understand people asking the questions. Harry will himself say that he probably hasn’t performed or been as sharp as he would have wanted to be but he has got two goals.
But you don’t leave out your captain and your record goalscorer when you’re in a semi-final. I’d be amazed if that happened. I don’t see that happening.

'Several instances of Dutch fans attacking England fans'
We are aware of some reports and videos circulating of disorder in Dortmund. It appears that there have been several instances of Dutch fans attacking England fans in bars and attempting to steal flags.
We understand this has resulted in minor injuries to five people. We are also aware that in addition to the tens of thousands of Dutch fans there to enjoy the game, there are groups of risk supporters who have travelled to Dortmund from the Netherlands.
Our officers are at the location supporting German colleagues. We would advise supporters to be aware of their surroundings and seek areas where there is a German Police presence.

Gareth Southgate: 'Different reasons for making changes'
There are different reasons for making changes. We were happy with the way the team were playing in previous games but we have made a sub at half-time, it’s not pre-conditioned.
You are always looking at the freshness of the team and the balance of the team and whether changes are going to make an improvement to the team or not. But all of the players go into the game in good condition. The game will take us in a certain direction that will make that decision for us.

More fan reaction to leaked team…
Anonymous: Harry Kane should not be playing.
RB, Lincoln: England need a manager who can make the right selection, best left back is now fit and he keeps Trippier in – even if Shaw does 75 mins it’s better than 75 mins of an unbalanced team – Toney or Palmer for Kane.
Anonymous: If Kane is playing then we should drop golden boy Foden for Toney, swap Saka and Trippier over, and tell them to hit crosses in, with this I hope Foden makes me eat my words but I doubt it.
15:24
Why so many Dutch fans?
15:19
'Fan frustration seeping into players'
Lots of the body language from my side looks like frustration if I was to put it into a category. I feel like the frustration is coming from the fans who are watching who are used to seeing these world-class players playing every week and expecting them to do the same things in the Euros.
I think that frustration from the crowd is starting to seep into the players. But ultimately the players are handling a very difficult experience and that’s what you have to put into perspective.
15:15
Lack of changes cause for concern?
15:10
Fan reaction to leaked team…
Anonymous: Honestly, if that is the team I can’t believe it. So many questions starting with why isn’t Palmer starting? If Shaw can play and he’s your number 1 right back then play him. Southgate is a chump.
Anonymous: Excellent team choice by Gareth. We’re so lucky to have him as England manager.
15:03
'Trippier has done a fantastic job'
Luke Shaw has been injured for four months, it wasn’t a possibility for him to play until the last match where he made a good contribution. We have to decide if he is ready to start but we are very happy to have him back.
He gives us balance, but Kieran Trippier has done a fantastic job. He has had many important nights with us over the last seven or eight years. He’s great around the squad, we are very fortunate to have players like him in our squad.

Carragher – 'We can’t disguise the fact England have been poor'
It does surprise me a little bit, maybe because the expectation is so great on this team because of what they have done before. When I was playing it almost felt like the quarter-final was par and a semi-final was an unbelievable achievement,’ Carragher said.
It almost feels like now a semi-final is par for this group and that is a credit to them.
We can’t disguise the fact the team has been poor. The last game they started well for the first 15 to 20 minutes but we have won one game in five [in normal time]. There are very few players in the team who you could say are having a great tournament, it doesn’t feel like that.
It felt like something shifted with those celebrations after the penalties, like “we are in the semi-final and where we need to be”. We need to see the real England now and that may come from playing better opposition.
I think England just do it, it will be really tight and I wouldn’t be surprised if it goes to penalties. I think England go through on penalties.

I had to correct how the players were viewing things. But, of course, that feeling was being reinforced so vocally and actively outside and I think they were picking up on that too much,’ Southgate said on Tuesday.
Maybe it was expectation. Maybe it was a lot of external things as well. But now they’re very much in a “what’s achievable, what’s possible” sort of mindset.
‘We saw a truer reflection of ourselves in the last game and there was a lot within that to build on and take into the game.’
