Emma Stone flashed her lingerie in a sheer lace top as she joined Cate Blanchett at day two’s gala screening of Poor Things at the Curzon in Mayfair on Thursday.

The actress, 35, who’s character pleasures themselves with an apple in the Frankenstein inspired movie, joined Cate, 54, on the red carpet for a photo.

The n actress, who introduced the cast to the audience at the screening, opted for a sophisticated checkered suit, teamed with a beige scarf and black court heels.

Emma looked effortlessly stylish in a red and black embroidered blouse with a lace midi skirt.

She stunned in her stylish ensemble, while donning a pair of black opaque tights and vibrant dangling earrings.

The cast of Poor Things joined together for another night but this time for a special screening and a Q&A of Searchlight Pictures.

Emma was joined on the red carpet by co-stars Mark Ruffalo, 56, and Willem Dafoe, 68, who were both dressed in smart suits.

On Thursday, Emma graced the red carpet at a gala screening at the Barbican Centre of her raunchy new film.

The actress stunned in a daringly plunging silver silk gown and went braless beneath the frock which boasted a sheer panel to protect her modesty and quirky asymmetrical seams.

The Oscar winner completed her ensemble with a dramatic blue crepe coat which slid effortlessly down her shoulders.

The actress’s sensational turn as the uninhibited Bella Baxter in Poor Things – which has already seen her nominated for a Golden Globe – has her as a favourite to be named Best Actress for the second time, after La La Land in 2017.

Yargos Lanthimos, who also directed The Favourite with Olivia Colman, is also expected to be nominated for his wildly original film.

The picture contains over a dozen explicit sex scenes and a huge amount of foul language.

An anti-Poor Things whispering campaign started shortly after its emergence on the festival circuit, with some saying that the use of the word ‘r*tard’ early on in the movie is problematic.

Likewise Stone’s depiction of Bella in the initial period, after her brain has been swapped with that of her unborn baby.

The actress’s nearest competition for the best actress Oscar will likely be Annette Bening, 65, whose new film Nyad also premiered in Telluride.

The movie tells the story of marathon swimmer Diana Nyad, who swam from Cuba to Florida at the age of 64. Bening, Oscar-nominated four times but never a winner, would be a sentimental favourite.

Poor Things is Stone’s first major film role since 2021’s Cruella.

An official trailer for Poor Things revealed that the Arizona-born actress’s Poor Things character, Bella Baxter, was resurrected by her guardian, Dr. Baxter, played by Dafoe, after she died by suicide.

Men in the trailer are perplexed by Bella’s eccentric behaviour, with Baxter explaining that ever since he brought her back to life, her head and body haven’t been in sync.

Stone noted in a Bella feature from Searchlight Pictures that, ‘The more autonomous Bella becomes, the more challenged men seem to be by it.’

She revealed that she, ‘wanted to play Bella because it felt like acceptance of what it is to be a woman.’

The actress also conveyed her gratitude for Yorgos, saying that he, ‘gave me a gift for making me a producer on [Poor Things.]’

‘I’ve gotten to be privy to the whole process that I wouldn’t have if I was just acting in it,’ she said. ‘It just felt like the perfect combination.’
