EMILY PRESCOTT: Somewhere under the rainbow, there’s Sia! Star shines in Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as Elton John emerges from retirement

She recently spent a fortune on a facelift but pop star Sia seems reluctant to show it off.

The 47-year-old Chandelier singer stuck with her trademark overgrown fringe – albeit as a vivid rainbow wig – when she performed in New York on Friday to celebrate her induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Meanwhile, Elton John, 76, emerged from his four-month retirement to perform Tiny Dancer after presenting his songwriting collaborator Bernie Taupin with a Musical Excellence Award. Elton said the pair, both below, have just finished a new album, adding: ‘He is without doubt one the finest lyric writers of all time.’

He also claimed he and Bernie hadn’t argued during their 56 years together, saying: ‘He was disgusted by my behaviour, but that’s a given.’

Kate Bush, 65, and the late George Michael were also inducted into the Hall of Fame. Reclusive Kate declined to attend but said: ‘I am completely blown away by this huge honour.’

Sheryl Crow, 61, brought along her two adopted teenage sons and explained that whenever she went to an event all dressed up, ‘it’s like “ugh”. They like me just being mum.’ That’s not very rock and roll!

Locals have accused Chelsea Football Club owners of trying to turn Stamford Bridge into a yuppie money pit.

Months after bosses were forced to scrap plans for an all-day music venue on the site, they now want to rip out the fitness studio at the health club next door and replace it with a bar.

But neighbours, including ex-Tatler editor Kate Reardon, left, aren’t happy. Kate tells me: ‘Chelsea FC is demonstrably unable to manage the nuisance caused to residents. Increasing their hospitality offering is excessive.’

The club declined to comment, but more nuisance came from Doug Emhoff, husband of US Vice-President Kamala Harris, when he visited with his street-clogging motorcade last week.

The Duchess of York has some serious questions to answer… when she captains a team at the Children With Cancer charity quiz night at a London pub next month. Anyone can enter an auction online to be on Team Fergie. Other captains will include Spice Girls Emma Bunton and Mel C. Bring on the music round!
