alert-–-emily-blunt-dyes-her-brown-hair-a-ravishing-red-in-first-sighting-on-the-devil-wears-prada-2-setAlert – Emily Blunt dyes her brown hair a ravishing red in first sighting on The Devil Wears Prada 2 set

Emily Blunt cut and dyed her brunette locks a ravishing red in her first sighting on the set of The Devil Wears Prada 2 in Manhattan’s West Side on Tuesday.

The British 42-year-old had a deeper burgundy shade when she originated the role of Emily Charlton, the beleaguered senior assistant of Runway Magazine editor-in-chief Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep) in the 2006 film.

Emily exited the 10 Hudson Yards building wearing a white Dior blouse beneath a black pinstripe corseted top, matching wide-leg trousers, and pumps selected by costume designer Molly Rogers.

It marks the second time Rogers replaced her Oscar-nominated mentor Patricia Field on a high-profile project following HBO Max’s Sex and the City continuation, And Just Like That.

Devil Wears Prada director David Frankel and screenwriter Aline Brosh McKenna returned to adapt Lauren Weisberger’s 2013 novel Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns set a decade later.

In the book, Emily teams up with her former co-worker Andy Sachs (Anne Hathaway) to create the successful aspirational wedding magazine, The Plunge, which Miranda wants to acquire for her own publishing company.

The sequel’s logline is more vague – setting the story up as a ‘rivalry for advertising revenue amidst declining print media as Miranda nears retirement.’

Blunt – whose character is based on Plum Sykes – could be seen chatting with another returning co-star Stanley Tucci, who reprises his role as Runway’s art director Nigel Kipling.

Meanwhile, the 76-year-old Oscar winner looked chic in her white short wig, grey skirt suit, and pumps as she was trailed by the 42-year-old Oscar winner wearing a black three-piece suit.
