Elon Musk’s ex Grimes has insisted that she wasn’t dumped by the billionaire businessman – and has confirmed that she’s been reunited with at least one of their three children.
Last month, the 36-year-old singer, whose real name is Claire Elise Boucher, spoke out about Musk, 53, and claimed that he wouldn’t let her see their children.
The former couple share two sons, X Æ A-Xii and Techno Mechanicus, as well as a daughter Exa Dark Sideræl together.
Grimes and Musk were together for four years before splitting in 2022, and she has now claimed that she was the one who decided to walk away from their relationship.
The Canadian singer made the comments on X, formerly Twitter, in response to a post from Azealia Banks, who accused her of being ‘cheated on’ and ‘dumped’ by Musk.
Their war of words began when Grimes replied to a Photoshopped image of her and Banks as Glinda and Elphaba from Wicked, and wrote: ‘Hate to say it but would’ve been kinda lit.’

Banks clearly was not impressed with the post, however, and replied: ‘@Grimezsz girl the way you are still trying to hold out on some weird a** innocent bulls**t years later after you got dumped, cheated on, your kids kidnapped and still trying to paint me like the villain and act like your above me.’
‘You can really quit mentioning me. I know you wish you could be my bestie but b***h… it’s f**king boring as hell. Let it go,’ she added.
Grimes replied to her post and said: ‘It’s just a funny joke bro. Not trying to paint you as a villain. I didn’t “get dumped.” I bounced.
‘My amazing baby is asleep in my bed beside me, I’m in love. No regrets. Life is as beautiful as you want it to be.
‘You’re insanely talented. even after all this, I want you to win. God bless [my lady],’ she added.
When one X user replied to Grimes’ post and branded Banks as ‘problematic,’ she responded: ‘She is the best hater on the planet.
‘The da Vinci of insults. At a point I just gave up and accepted that I appreciate the madness of existence.’
The two women have been butting heads since 2018, when they first became embroiled in a very public feud.

After his split from Gimes, Musk sued for for custody of their children in Texas; the suit has since been settled. Elon is seen with their son X in October
Banks made headlines in August of that year after she claimed that Grimes had invited her to Musk’s LA estate so that Banks could collaborate on music.
But Banks compared her stay at his home to the horror film Get Out in a scathing Instagram post.
The rapper alleged via her Stories that Grimes spent the weekend comforting Musk, who had tweeted at the time about wanting to make his company Tesla private for $420 per share.
Banks claimed that Musk regretted the tweet because he had yet to secure the funding to privatize the company.
She also made allegations linking the mogul to use of drugs including marijuana. Musk denied ever having met Banks, according to The Guardian.
A few years later, in 2021, Grimes reignited the feud when she announced that her new song at the time, 100% Tragedy was ‘about having to defeat Azealia Banks when she tried to destroy my life.’
Banks responded by saying: ‘Grimes definitely has some psychosexual obsession with me. I think it’s bitterness ’cause she doesn’t have the musical capacity I have.
‘Everything she does is out of pretentiousness and it comes out like that … while everything I do is out of natural swag and geniusness.’
After his split from Gimes, Musk sued for for custody of their children in Texas, where his businesses are headquartered.
Grimes then counter-sued filing a ‘petition to establish parental relationship’ in a California court, typically seen as the first step in suing for custody for unmarried parents.
She claimed that Musk was withholding access to her kids and even prevented them from seeing their terminally ill maternal grandmother.
A Travis County Clerk confirmed that the Texas dispute had been settled, but declined to give further details.
