Eamonn Holmes branded Mariah Carey a ‘prima donna who likes attention’ as he recalled an interview with her while speaking at St. Michael and All Angels Church on Thursday.
The broadcaster, 65, who revealed he had spoken with the singer, 55, ‘two or three times’ said she was always ‘difficult’ and he once walked out on one of their meetings.
Addressing the crowd at the K-9 Angels Christmas Carol Concert in Chiswick, he recounted an awkward meeting where Mariah insisted on laying down because she was tired.
Eamonn explained how the superstar as ‘resting’ when he walked into her room, he recalled: ‘I said, “well I’m either laying down too, or she can sit up”
‘She’s looking all confused in the middle of all of this because she is what you would call a prima donna and she likes the attention.
‘She might have made one record in her life that made her famous and everyone loves her. But, I’ve interviewed her two or three times in my life and she’s always been difficult.’

He concluded: ‘I wasn’t allowed to lay down beside her and she wouldn’t sit up so we didn’t do the interview.’
