Dukes of Hazzard’s star John Schneider has issued a death threat against president Joe Biden, saying he ‘should be hung.’

Schneider, 63, wrote the concerning message on X on Wednesday and also targeted Biden’s son Hunter.

‘Mr President, I believe you are guilty of treason and should be publicly hung,’ the actor wrote. ‘Your son too. Your response is..? Sincerely, John Schneider.’

Schneider deleted the post, but not before TMZ reported on it.

He had been replying to a post by Biden about former president Donald Trump.

‘Trump poses many threats to our country: The right to choose, civil voting rights, and America’s standing in the world,’ wrote Biden. ‘But the greatest threat he poses is to our democracy. If we lose that, we lose everything.’

Schneider, who played Bo Duke on the Dukes of Hazzard, was unmasked as the celebrity behind the donut costume on The Masked Singer the same day he wrote the threatening post.

He often supports Trump on Twitter, has previously claimed the 2020 was rigged and called Anthony Fauci ‘Treasonous.’

Many on X took note of Schneider’s comment against Biden, with some demanding the secret service look into it.

Former NBCUniversal executive Mike Sington wrote: ‘Has-been, D-list TV “star” (Dukes of Hazzard), and right-wing MAGA nut John Schneider, publicly posts that President Biden and Hunter Biden should be executed.’

Lawyer Don Lewis said: ‘John Schneider deleted his tweet saying President Biden should be hanged. But the internet is forever and wouldn’t it be a shame if “Bo Duke” receives a visit from some federal agents?’

An anonymous user added: ‘Is John Schneider going to get the same treatment that Kathy Griffin received from the Secret Service? She posed for a picture, and he made an actual threat against the president and his son.’

Comedian Griffin has claimed she was investigated by the Secret Service after she posed with a dummy version of severed Trump’s head in 2017.

She said that she was put under federal investigation, and even placed on the no-fly list while also being ‘interrogated under oath.’

Back in 2018 Schneider said it was time ‘for Hollywood stars to come out of the Republican closet’ after he was released from jail for failure to pay spousal support.

The actor claimed at the time that  Republican stars are subject to political bias and stronger scrutiny – and that is what he fell victim to during a messy alimony battle in court.

‘I do think there’s a bias against conservatives, Republicans, in Hollywood, but I think if you let that alter how you are, then I question how you are,’ Schneider said in an interview with Fox News after his release.

‘[Within the] court system, I was treated like I was guilty until proven innocent, like a second-class citizen,’ he said, and added that it’s time for Hollywood stars to ‘come out of the Republican closet.’

Schneider, at age 17, won the role of Bo Duke on The Dukes Of Hazzard and starred on the CBS show from 1979 to 1985 opposite Tom Wopat as his older cousin Luke Duke.

He has worked regularly in TV and film since and was a series regular on Smallville and The Mummy before landing a main role in 2013 on The Haves And The Have Nots on the Oprah Winfrey Network.

Schneider also had recurring roles on Dr Quinn, Medicine Woman and the reboot of 90210.
